| Quote: quinny "I dont think its a case of the player not wanting to come, I think it is more the way it has been handled to suit the Hetherington's and the financial situation of this club.'"
Then why slap on a transfer fee to put off likely suitors. Let him chose Trinity under a free market.

Seems like were abit light on a half, hooker and winger!
Out of a 21 man squad, 5 homegrown and only 4 over seas.

| I'm honestly liking how the team is shaping up.
Hooker and halfback will clearly be significant additions but I'm happy with the rest.

| I also think that a new scrum half does not necessarily knock Goulding down the pecking order.
He can challenge Sykes for stand off and Sykes is less of a guarantee now that Smith is kicking so well and his recent injuries.

I'm with you on this. It's going to be a hard season, I don't want any players here who want to be somewhere else. We need every one of them fighting for the cause and if someone is being forced into coming here then I'd rather not get him.

Have you a link for that as I've looked through a load of PS tweets and I can't find where he said that.
Seems a strange thing for a player to say, even if he thinks it, might back himself into a corner.

He doesn't want to come to us fine then. Hes a average overweight hooker. Plenty of talented hookers in the World Cup that are just as good and far more skillful than McShane.

| We don't know the in's and out's of what's been said by McShane we can only speculate on paper talk. Best just wait and see what transpires over the next couple of weeks, let the coach do his job, he must have some irons in the fire from the World Cup and I reckon if nothing comes of the McShane rumour then someone else will be in the frame and we'll get another pleasant surprise similar to the Anderson signing.
Looking at the squad, it's certainly looking a lot more healthy than what we were thinking after our recent signings and even though we're gonna be in for one hell of a battling season, I don't believe for one minute we're gonna be whipping boys as some on other sites would have you think.

| Scrum half is inbound.
We can't have Lauititi and Tauti on the park at the same time I don't feel, not unless we have completely changed his style of play which seems unlikely. I think they are too high risk players, and given we are likely to be in a bit of a dogfight having 2 on the park is a luxury we are unlikely to afford.
Hopefully the Cas match was indicative of what we can expect to see from Ali this coming season, and there's life in the legs yet. Let's hope though we can afford to use him more sparingly so as to get more from him in attack as I feel that he could be our main attacking option and keeping him as healthy as possible for as long as possible needs to be one of the main priorities.
What sort of a game does the new lad have, anybody know? Ideally he would be a grafter who can play long minutes rather than an impact player for me.

Re Ali, I said last year I didn’t feel Agar was using him the best possible way by starting him. He’s 34(?) next year and perhaps won’t play every game so I’d like to see Kirmond and Walshaw start then bring Ali on to play against tiring defences. He still capable of having an impact on a game.
Anderson has said himself he’s more of a grafter than anything else.

| Really? You are saying they shouldn't be in the squad because they are not Neil Fox?
