Been released by 'mutual consent'. I guess we must have giving some form of pay off, doubt he will have walked for nothing.

| In the current economic climate, we are doing well to realise any transfer fees for the players that we have sold.
Even though there is undoubted quality in the likes of Poore, Charlie, T.Smith and Aiton, it's quite unusual for teams to pay transfer fees.
Does this mean that the respective new clubs feel that they have each got a bargain ?

And also players we haven't paid a transfer fee for, so it could be argued turning £0 into £200k plus is something of a business success in the present climate and our present situation.
I'll add the caveat that i'd prefer to not be in such a situation but we are where we are and for the reasons we are, best to make a positive out of it though.

I don't know if im happy or not.
Hes been paid for not doing anything for two years so a pay off is nothing out of the ordinary but when he's played i've seen a bit of something in him that might have benefited us this season.
Hey ho!

He wasn't the worst player to have pulled on the shirt thats for sure its just he wasn't worth the reported near 100K he was given. That wasn't his fault though, he was hardly going to offer to take less! If we'd have been paying him 30-40K he'd have been a decent guy to keep around the squad. I imagine he has fixed himself up with something back home and we are paying the difference.

| Couldn't fault his effort but was shocking in defense. Being a local lad gave him a bit of a teflon coating. Probably had his best game for us in that last match v Cas where he came in off his wing as part of a game plan rather than on his own initiative.

| I haven't seen anything official to say Kay or Mellars have gone?
Is it an RLFans fact or really a fact?

| I'm not uncomfortable with that wing spot opening up and it could be Reece Lyne who takes the jumper; we were also linked with Will Sharpe before the shiz hit the fan, so that might come back to life.
Either way, our game plan will have to change - there aren't many wingers who can carry out of your own 20 like Fox and Cockayne, whatever their shortcomings elsewhere, and Ben in particular was able to steal metres in that situation due to his speed, toughness and refusal to die easily with the ball. I don't think Lyne has that in him.
Best of luck to Ben - he certainly changed my view and on a personal level, has been a friend to our junior club, which has been very helpful.

| I do think it's a decent deal if you got a fee - I don't think he's at a point in his career where he will get better (29, is he?) But, he was OK, and always put a shift in.
Have to say tho, the last game of the season, I had to respect Lauititi having a crack and a wind up with the Cas fans - he loved being the pantomime villain, and I think it's awesome when players get involved with the banter and give a bit back, or even a bit to work with! ....Contrast to Cockayne, who decided the best way to respond to some stick was by spitting at us...

They are very different types of people so tough to compare their integrity and "social skills" but equally, I'm always baffled when fans have what they call banter with players, that in any other walk of life would be agressive and disrespectful behaviour, and then complain wen a player reacts.

In terms of personality, I would suggest Lauitiiti and Cockayne are polar opposites so their varying reactions to stick isn't really that surprising.
