What am I hoping to gain? An ulcer probably
I have put hundreds of thousands into this club. I have no more to put in. Let's get that clear right now. I realise it's 'a big boys game'. Wakefield hasn't got one. I put myself up because quite frankly it was do that or it was going into admin. It's that simple. If you and others would prefer the admin route, let me know, it will save a lot of hard work. Without a benefactor this club will have to survive on the pretext that it pays out what it gets in. If that means championship then so be it. But without significant other revenues or a benefactor, I don't quite see what you expect me to pull off here?'"
It's typical Trin fans, it'll be a case of.
1. Something will turn up.
2. Someone else will do it!

Thanks for the reply. I realise my initial post seems harsh and critical, perhaps I should have asked this by PM.
I have therefore sent you a further PM.

| Quote: jack in the box "If this figure of 400K is our problem lets put it into perspective. Take a look around at the other SL clubs and ask yourselves would such a sum cause them all the problems that it is causing us. Would they be having fire sales and not recruiting ? That amount is about what Mason cost Huddersfield and Ken Davey didn't even flinch.
Michael Carter has been around our club long enough to have known about and come into contact with all the other SL chairmen. He should have known the calibre of the people that run other clubs, the resources they have and what they are capable of doing. Surely he must know its a big boys game he is now playing and you need deep pockets to dig into from time to time. If he can't do that why has he put himself up for this ? what is he hoping to gain ?'"
This is exactly the kind of post that is damaging to the whole process imho.
Can we not just leave him to do his best to get the club on an even keel.

| To be honest with the lack of interest from the wider Wakefield public he is banging his head against a brick wall anyway. i guess and hope we will somehow limp through to the end of the next season with a team full of kids so the rfl loan is repaid and his house is safe. He then cannot be blamed for walking away, I know I would in his position.

| What MC is oing along with others is trying there very best so that we still have a club because it seems that the way JE and AG were going we were very close to no longer having a club.
Obviousle we would all love to stay in SL but if we end up dopping down at the end of next season then so be it but the most important thing is that there will still be a club for us to support.

All very true. But.....If we accept that we are to be relegated at the end of next season I'd suggest we must also accept that SL is gonna be taken away from us for a long long time, ask the poor specci's at Halifax, Sheffield, Featherstone etc!

Are we showing loyalty to the people who loaned us money to pay the tax man?

Could be, but Bradford didn't show same loyalty and they've had far more from RL than us.
Plus we have far better chance of paying off loans with SL income I would have thought

Bit of a no-brainer to go for these proposals given our current predicament. With the turmoil London are going through we would have a fighting chance of getting that 13th spot and a chance to build for the future. A redution in the size of superleague, even to just 12 would probably see us relegated and a period in the wilderness would await. Whether the club could survive on championship income saddled with superleague debts would be debatable.

| No1 priority is to survive 2014 with a 13th place (or better) finish. Same for my team. Time for Wakey and Cas Tigers to join the rebels IMO. Live for today. It might look morally wrong to supporters of the championship clubs (and you have got to feel for them) but something most of us agree on is the survival of OUR respective clubs is ALL that matters.

Thats the point though, it is morally wrong.
Some of those Championship clubs deserve a shot at the big time after years of being in the wilderness.
We don't have a god given right to SL status forever as much as we would like to have.

Does your club come first and the game second ? It does for me. No Castleford Tigers - no RL for me. There ought to be a poll on this.
