I'm sure you are going to hear some straight talking on Monday. Michael Carter and Chris Brereton will not give you any "bull".

| Quote: Theboyem "The mention of the contract date makes me think that the ones ooc will be amongst them and theres 4 of those i think? (Wildie, Kay, Goulding & Cowling). Add in the 5 that have already left (or about to) then there's only another 4 to go IF the article is right. Kirmond, Aiton, Poore & Collis (maybe Annakin also at a push) are probably the only ones that anyone would pay a fee for and would be worth around 200-300K between them so you would think it would be them.
Certainly would leave a derth of quality if true though.'"
You might be lucky to get 200K for those 4. The 3 imports would be a case of getting them of the wage bill. Kirmond won't be going anywhere IMO. He is integral to your survival in SL.

The way I see it, If Kirmond doesn't go, And investment doesn't come in. There won't be a Wakefield.
He is your one gem, You may get nominal fee's for the others. But nothing extreme, Leeds for instance don't pay big fees. They paid £40k for Joel Moon, So you'd be looking at similar for Aiton, But you could work a deal which gains you players either on loan or in return.
But I presume you will be holding out as long as possible before the sale of Kirmond goes through, Which, Invitably. It will, to the highest bidder.

| It just shows how precarious a Superleague Club's finances can be. Many of our fans have berated our Board to spend more on players, but the Club is being very cautious, obviously aware that a few clubs are wobbling a bit.
We still bear the scars from our own financial collapse after falling out of Superleague previously, which probably set us back 4 years (costing us a licence for 2009). Having come out of Administration yourselves, it must be doubly galling to be in the brown stuff so soon! Having said that we have a long history (apart from our 1970/80s Glory Years) of having to sell our best players to survive (prior to Superleague being formed we had to allow several players including Mr J Davies to leave for nothing, just because we couldn't meet his contract payments, and a few more went as well, but we avoided Administration that time). I thought it was wrong that Bradford managed to avoid doing that, at the end of the day you sell what assets you have.
Hopefully you will generate enough cash to remove the risk of Administration!

| Although very frustrating that more players will have to be released or sold to balance the books.
Michael Carter's decision to keep James Elston is becoming more understandable. If JE has been given the task of reversing our plight that he possibly got us into. MC is making him do the hard yards, instead of what everyone has wanted by getting shut.
This difficult period of time will indicate whether JE is up to the job or just a talker.
Then you could have grounds for re assessing JE's position at the club and his commercial staff.

If your theory is correct, that's playing a very high stakes game, don't you think?

Just weighing up that when the going was good, JE was only too happy to spend the money.
Now is the time to see how good a commercial man he is. If JE had been given the boot, he would have walked away with no real damage done to him, just speculation that he was rubbish.

| I have already bought my season ticket for next season and I will carry on with club 1873, but after 46 years of supporting Wakefield and playing at amateur for 20 years I've had it with rugby league. I have tickets for the world cup final and that will be the last game I will ever watch. I just cannot go through this again.
