| That's why for me he needs to be playing the remainder of the games this season, let him show what he can do, let him see we think there is a place for him.
I just hope we're not too late..

| I think that this sounds like a players agent trying to create a situation. I have no idea who Lee Smiths agent is, It could be Martin Shuttlegouff ?. Now Shuttlegouff as we all know from past experience has no love for Wakefield and apparently goes out of his way to get his players away from the club and cause harm to Trinity. I understand that Shuttlegouff has a big love in with Mr and Mrs Davey at Huddersfield hence most of Shuttegouffs players are at Hudds. I would guess that Shuttegouff or whoever Smiths agent is would have been in contact with Cas or any other club and indicated that Lee Smith could be available, this generates an interest from that club, agent then speaks with the player. It may be that the player does not want to move and is very happy at Wakefield, this is not a good situation for the agent so he goes to the press and starts to slag Wakefield in the hope of putting doubt in the players mind. For waht its worth Lee Smith is a class player and not one we should let go to one of our closest rivals especially with two clubs up for relagation next season. I would also add that the £ 200,000 owed to HMRC is a rubbish story as I would guess that with the little info we have re salary cap etc our monthly payment to HMRC will be in the region of £ 40,000. So £ 200,000 would represent 4 months plus of payments due. There is no way in Gods green earth that HMRC woyld allow us to go 4 months without paying prior to resorting to a WUO. I suspect that they would demand payment after 1 month only. I suspect that this is a tale given to the press by someone like Shuttlegouf in order to create a money making opportunity. Agents = Low life

Cowling named in 19 man squad.

| Investors are waiting in the wings. 4 in total. They want an equal share of the club with ag 20% obviously. AG understandably wanting a bigger share due to putting in circa 600k of his own cash. Think AG came in to this venture niaively thinking he could prob make a bob or two. Other 4 directors not happy with je. If it comes to fruition then each will run different parts of the club as per each directors expertise. We owe rfl 100k and they have instructed us to cut our cap by 100k. One of said directors willing to pay off rfl out of his own pocket should ag agree to them investing. Agar will sign a new deal, could have walked away at any point and straight in to another job (more than likely les cats) but he has come here to do a job and he really wants to see it through. The things the players are saying in the press and on tv aren't just the usual spiel they actually mean it the spirit within the team and coaching staff IS the best they have ever experienced.

Indeed, very interesting. However I have been hearing about investors "waiting in the wings" for the last 20 or 30 years and not seen anyone come forward other than Ted Richardson and Andrew Glover.
Not dismissing what you say as I have no knowledge of what goes on in the Club on a day to day basis but if there are 4 investors who want an equal share to Andrew Glover and Andrew has invested £600,000 into the Spirit of 1873 Ltd then to acquire an equal share surely they need to invest £600,000 each. This would result in a new investment of £2.4m which would certainly resolve any problems we have in the short to medium term and until we get to Newmarket. If the 4 are looking to invest less than £600,000, then in this scenario they cannot expect to have an equal share to Andrew. Also what about the other Directors who will have invested.
Again not dismissing what you say but after supporting this Club for 50 years my inclination is to believe it when/if it happens but it is a nice thought.

I only know of 1 other who I believe does not seek any publicity, hence no name in the programme. If the 4 are existing directors then there must be one other.

I think there are 5 in total. From what I have been told the bit about the RFL figure is wrong.
