Would be good to get him tied up for another few years.

Would have been better if he'd been tied up on Monday (along with the rest of your team). We might have had a chance then.

I certainly hope that transpires - he's a cracking player and a great skipper.

This.
Wakefield have some real marketable players that they need to keep hold of such as Kirmond, Cockayne,Amor, Collis, T.Smith, Sykes and Poore. Could do with getting them and some others like Lee Smith tied down on longer deals.

| Says a lot about Richard Agar to me, does this. Collis signed an extension, Annakin signed an extension, Kirmond says he wants to stay and hints at a new deal, and Cockayne is said to be happy at Wakey. The fans may have their doubts, but a lot of the players seem to like him, and I'm sure it's not because they get an easy ride.
I hope Danny does stay. He was good for us during his first stint and has matured into a really fine player in his second. It's not all one way traffic with Huddersfield.

| I'd personally give Danny a 5 year deal yes it has some risks but IMO he is worth it and will keep improving, hes 27 now and if he does get one he'll be 32. Then we can have the option to sign him on for another year or two.

I wouldn't give any player a 5 year deal even if he were the new Wally Lewis, it's pure folly for any club let alone a small one like us.
Most I'd do is 3 year and that player would need to be exceptional - Danny is such a player.

No its not, Raliegh has also been a fine signing and has hit form in his last two games.

| The thing with a three year contract is in effect it is only an 18 month to two year contract if you wish to keep a player. Lots of players are poached, released or looking elsewhere long before the term of their contract expires.
Without doubt a big contract is a risk for a club like ours, however I'd say if we can afford it and he (DK) would accept it; id give him a five year deal.
If he is to be our captain going forward and i see no reason why not it would be a shot accross the bows to other SL and NRL clubs that we want to retain our top players, and not only is Danny a top player here, he would be a top player anywhere.

Quite right , Raleigh is looking like the 2012 version again.
I think as a whole we have about the most dominant go forward pack in SL and that can only be improved with the likes of the big new fella (i cant even begin to get his name right so i wont bother trying; TT will have to do for now) when he returns from injury.

I know what you mean, I did mean a real 3 year deal after this one expires.

Agree on this, Danny wants to and enjoys playing for Wakefield. Since he has been given captaincy he has grown into a quality player that probably all the teams in Super League would have him in.

I know, i was just saying that if you want to keep a player say three years, you need a longer contract in reality.
