If Wood has gone then I hope we are clearing space for a replacement otherwise with Sykes & Smith out we are very short in the halves. Never been Woods biggest fan but at least he is a body and he will need replacing.

If wood gone and Injuries confirmed then Lee Smith 6, Wildie at 7, Washbrook at 9 and put Annakin at 13. Got 5 fit props so play Tautai in second row. Mellars utility off bench? Recall Cowling and start him in centre! Wonder if Agar is losing the belief in him from the team?

So let me get this straight, we release Andy Ellis who was a very good hooker to keep Wood instead, only to let Wood go. WTF

He was OOC, we would of probably offered him a contract just that fartown offered him more wonga

But that would be for next season, why would he be 'released' now?

I also don't expect us to give him another contract but I would have thought he would stay to see out his present contract and remain at the club to the end of this season.

If, IF, he has set up a move without consent - it is exactly what I would expect from Agar as a response, consistent with his treatment of others. If you are not fully comitted to the club, you can ply your trade elsewhere.

Wakefield Express 9th May 2013 - " Kyle Wood stepped in to plug the gap left by Sykes against Catalans on Saturday night and although admitting losing Sykes is a blow, Agar is confident his squad can deal with the loss.

“Woody has been sat patiently for a chance and I felt he did okay last week,” Agar commented.

“He came in with a couple of timely plays , had a hand in two if not three tries and I felt he played very soundly. He understands the role we want him to play off Timmy [Smith] and while we lose Paul’s experience, as well as running game and kicking, judging on last week we covered it okay.

“I thought Lee [Smith] kicked goals particularly well and I thought Woody, for his first game in there, has done a good job for us.”

Less than 3 weeks later and Kyle Wood has possibly left the club mid season.
