The most disappointing aspect is the total lack of quality young English half backs, never mind how much cash we may or may not have.
There is ether a lack of good kids coming through or, insufficient quality in British based coaches to take them to the next level.

I can understand this thread and I can see why we may need someone to 'blend' with Smith.

However I will be much happier about discussing possible partners once the problems of a No7 have been sorted at Hull,Salford and saints because I am sure Smith must be on the radar of those three clubs.

There was a poster on here (forget who) a couple of years back saying we should go for this guy.

Bath seemed to take a bit of time to work out what his best position would be, but he's been getting good reports since moving into the centres and is in with a chance of going on tour with England in the summer (depending on which England payers get called up for the Lions).

Brought him to the attention of the club and the clubs official Agent in Australia/NZ four and a half years ago, interestingly and to my surprise they had no idea who he was.

Had problems off the field which would complicate gaining a visa, on the flip side, he's an absolute genius attacking player which is why a succession of respected NRL coaches have been prepared to take a risk on him.

Seems to have got his act together and straightened himself out but he's wasted the best part of what should have been a superb career. Still has loads to offer and a move away from Australia could be just what he needs, Visa still the obstacle here.

He looked very good this morning, 6'1" - 106K, pace to burn and strong, still 19
Reckoned to have defense problems though - should fit right in

Big difference in having to organise plays every set of 6 and playing fullback and being told when to come into the attacking line IMO.
