I certainly was not blaming the ref for the result , I posted the thread at half time.(12 12 at that time)

The result was entirely of our own making.

The shocking refereeing merely made the game a dour viewing experience with absolutely no flow and no possibility of any build up of pressure from either team.

Two poor teams in a dour game - Hull went back to basics and played simple rugby and our jaded forwards and lack of energy made sure it worked for them.

Disappointing - that was a real opportunity to put Hull to the sword when they're in a pretty bad place. Credit to them though, they did what they had to; I guess that gives Gentle another week.

For once, I don't think Child got much wrong today, though he did get whistle happy as the 2nd half wore on, I'll give you that. We were abysmal today and it is entirely our fault we lost. I'm afraid we look like the side that started last season to me. We must have been better ar Cas; I couldn't get to that game, but Salford at home was just as bad, and large parts of Hudds too; they were up for the taking and our own errors cost us that match

I honestly thought we would of won this game. Not giving them a spanking but a convincing enough win would of been brilliant against a low on confidence Hull side. Could not believe what we turned out today, I think I counted 1 or pushing two offloads, not good enough.

Dont blame the ref how can we out match the biggest pack in the league then make Hull look good.Had to laugh after the game when what is a new idea a player comes up and talks how the game went.Mathers came up and yes the first thing asked how many games did you intend winning over the weekend.No doo doo sherlock 2 mathers went on to say our own errors cost us the game giving to many penalties away and we are a fairly new side.How long are we going to be a new side that one ran out after last season.This lot need a kick up the rear thats for sure it was a very poor showing by our players more so the forwards.Heavens knows what the score will be next week but I bet Wigan will be going all out to put us well and truly to the sword.

Child blew for a high tackle by Hull which led to a repeat set and ultimately our first try. It was neither high nor dirty.

I have no complaints about him. We were awful.

What did Hull "create" for their first three tries? Nothing - that was all us, not Child, a run from dummy half against lazy markers, an "own goal" by Tim smith and a ricocheted kick. That was enough to sink our spirit.

Add to that Lee Smith going for an intercept, the lack of ball control and the meaningless penalties we gave away late in the sets and there's the reason we got soundly beaten.

If Smith had not gone for the intercept they would have been in anyway with the overlap they had.Smith was the only one to twig that an intercept was on most times the ball went to Heramia alas all to late in the game.

Pick our pack on form and start Annakin at 10 Get Mellars back in the 17 with Mariano and Wood give them another go to play for a spot by playing them against Wigan. Need some running from dummy half by Wood as we used to do in second half previously.

Play Lee Smith at centre and drop Lynne. Give Raleigh another week to improve his fitness surely we have the technology to ID the high fitness level required to perform at his usual high standards, our pack lack energy and too many over 30 maybe?.Rest Lauitiiti next week plus If Kirmo is anything but 100% also give him the week off against Wigan. I'd love to see our forwards stats from today.

Who's blamed the ref, no one from what I've read, everyone's practically said the same. I don't think there's anything wrong in saying that he's consistently inconsistent. His whistle happy style almost puts me off going when I see he's got one of our games.

Can't blame the ref for the result but he badly affected the standard of the game. Don't think I have ever enjoyed a game with him in charge.

The result was nothing to do with Mr Child.
If we cant complete half of our own sets we wont beat anyone.
Our execution with ball in hand was very poor which left us turning the ball over early in the tackle count and having to cope with too much defence.
Mr Child did have a strange interpretation of a high tackle though.

Child is a poor ref - that's obvious to anyone with eyes; he blows up too often, has a strange and constantly fluctuating interpretation of certain rules and is unable to assert authority on the pitch.

He is however, poor for both teams - his performance was nothing to do with our inability to close out a very winnable game against a poor Hull side.

Had a laugh with the FC fans in the north stand about who would get the next pen and why, none of us could figure out the refs thinking.
