| Nah people shouting stuff at players has happened at every game I've ever been to and as long as it doesn't cross the line to racism or homophobic chants etc it's alright imo. The players aren't bothered by silly name calling and generally they rise above it or give a bit of banter back if they hear it.

I don't agree. Bickering is unfortunately a part of the game, they hear it from the opposition and their fans, they must ride above it.

| For what it's worth, I saw some Facebook pictures a couple of years ago showing Griffin's front room (I think he, Solomona and JD were playing Guitar Hero, if I recall correctly). He has a framed Wakefield shirt on his living room wall.
Just thought it was worth a mention.

I bet its not dirty!
He let us down badly in the relegation fight when Kear took over, so much so he was dropped for the Case game as he couldn't be relied on.

From memory, it was the 2004 shirt. Maybe his play-off shirt.
Yeah, 2006 not a good year for him.

| Think Wakefield fans need to leave this alone.
Whether Griffin should have reacted it was started, not for the first time by a Wakefield fan (idiot fan imo)
It doesn't do us any good.
Don't know why they were so bothered about him as the game was at a key point then.

| No player should react to a fans banter no matter how harsh it is. The way to react to a slagging from the crowd is not to react and carry on with the game. I was stood in chavs corner and the salford lot were shouting at Ali (fat c---) but he did not react at all. Well done mate. As for Griffin he should be dealt with sevearly by the league and his club.

It makes no odds Griffin should just laughed it off and walked away, if the bottle had hit some one not involved and caused injury, he could of landed him self in hot water...

| Many players have been to grounds and copped it from the crowd. If its racist or personal then of order anything else is part and parcel of game in my opinion. The fact that he reacted and threw something into the crowd isn't and he should be done for this.

| Spare a thought for refs and TJ's what Griff may have got for a few seconds yesterday they get for a full 80 minutes everyweek.
Also just to spice things up a bit ,I heard we have been in talks recently with a view to a return to us.

I sure whoever it was is proud. But I go to watch my team play rugby not shout abuse at someone who I know I am protected from because he should have more about him than I should.
I don't care what happens to him though, I care what happens to us. It will still go down as a crowd incident.
A plastic bottle is hardly going to hurt anyone though lets not get all drama queen about it.

| Quote: Shifty Cat "Get what you're saying but you can't go reacting to people in the crowd that way, there would be absolute bedlam if players acted that way. In fact even if you're on the street and someone called you a name, you can't go throwing you're weight around.'"
I'll qualify the comment, i don't condone any such acts perpitrated by any pro sportsmen (or amature for that matter), however you cannot say what you want to people and not expect a "negative" response - and then berate them. That is lunacy.
I have two analogies 1) i work in a school wher children constantly push the boundaries/are provocative and are not conserned with the consequences until they either smack them in the mouth or are dealt with via the school behavioural systems and then cry foul and try to abuse the system or use the system they have abused on someone else. 2) would the individual conserned have gone up to said player in the pub and said "excuse me Mr T. Pot would you mind stepping outside i would like to say something to you? the answer to that is in most cases is - i think not!!
All im suggesting is people apply common sense, weve all shouted at players and refs and water carriers etc - just dont be surprised if they answer back (or chuck water bottles.)
That said if a spectator throws an object they are dealt with by the club (banned etc) or the police, it will be interesting to see if any action is taken by either the RFL or Salford against a player in this instance.
