When the rumours about Agar coming to Wakefield started I wasnt happy at all. I have been a doubter for much of the time ever since although I know a guy who coached and played with him who has always sung Agars praises. However on seeing this thread I admit to a pang of shock and hope that he doesnt leave us. Hope its just part time and if it is, then thats fantastic for him and will definitely benefit us.

I'm surprised they've not given it to the bloke who's now coaching Catalan.

Bonus I guess is Agar will be able to get a good look at any promising French players.

Wonder if the French refused to pay Wakefield any compensation for taking our coach mid-contract. Bailing out on the club after such a relatively successfull season doesn't come across well.

No more so than when Agar was given the Trinity job. Fans generally don't get a say.

I dont see how it would affect Wakefield as a team/club so I dont have a problem. I believe his main concentration will be Wakefield and more France when near the World Cup games come around he will then focus on France and their players.

I'm pleased for Agar personally, that he has been recognised, and imho that reflects on the club as well.
I'm assuming it won't distract from his day job as it will be after season end and he willbe able to get close to the French and other teams to be able to assess new signings for next season as a bonus.....only time will tell.

What does surprise me is that on the WTW Facebook page there are still a couple who think we should never have got involved with Agar and that he isn't doing a good job.
Is this a feeling held on here? I thought everybody was pretty much happy with him now, whether it started out that way or not?

Never honestly saw a problem, last season the players needed to gel. Look what happened to the back end of it. Bradford game it seemed our players just didnt turn up. The players love playing under him and I dont see a problem TBH.

Agar can do what he likes work wise just like you can so long as his employer does not see a conflict of interest.

WTRLFC are not a members club and do not have shareholders so again no right to know.

Well said Vasty. I do wonder sometimes why fans think they have such a say in what happens to players and coaches personally.

Happy with Agar, but i cannot help thinking thinking that the French job will be on is mind. Also will other clubs come for him now he is showing that he is a good coach,also will he be thinking i can do better than Wakefield, you never know whats going on in that bald head of his
