Am I correct in thinking that by outline planning permission, it means that permission is granted for a stadium to be built on the site, but designs and what not will still have to get planning permission at a later date?

Yep, groundworks can begin in the new year but the actual build can't commence until detailed plans are submitted. This though tends to be just a formality. |

I don't believe any work can commence as this is only the Outline Consent. Detailed consent will be required for any work I believe even enabling works but detailed consent or reserve matters consents are pretty much a formality. The hard work was getting the Outlne Consent and we are there.

That is correct, but the plans are drawn up and only need tweeking. A few weeks for approval and BANG!
However, work can commence without 'Detailed' planning - at risk! |

Excellent news, I must admit I was getting a little worried with the wait. I wonder if anyone could shed any light on possible legal challenges. From what I read on twitter that now it's been rubber stamped the opposition have 2 months to mount a challenge?
