They're great value!

You are missing the point though, inside Belle Vue the club have massively enhanced the match day experience and along with it the available revenue opportunities. There's new bars, new food outlets, more sponsorship opportunities, extra win & dine capacity and a more accessible club shop.

The club has filled the stadium with 25% more fans who in turn rattle the springs off every till in every outlet there is. We sell more merchandise than ever because more people have become vested in the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, and the atmosphere that an average crowd of 8,200 creates just makes people enjoy the experience of match days all the more.

It's the opposite of the vicious cycle that's happening at Cas

Not to mention the 1873 club, which is brinigng good amounts of revenue into the club.
Anyone who has bought a S/T should also be taking this up as well (if they can afford to do so of course)

makes absolute business sense at these prices,

e.g. i normally make 5 or 6 home games in a season and only bring my eldest lad, works out at about £180, at these prices i have talked er indoors into us all getting a ST for next season, got a family ticket at 275 and a junior at 25 so thats 120 quid they have got extra from me already and also my lot are a hungry and thirsty bunch that will be there every home game

Depends how you want to manipulate things, considering our season ticket sales are up 400% on this time last year despite the fact that we were garbage last year, there is a sense of pulling things together at the club, ok not everyone's bought into it, but all things considered deserves more then labelling with a vicious cycle. People in glass houses & all that.

If cas sell 1500 memberships at £205 which looks to be the equivalant of wakeys gold membership. The revenue will be £307,500. Thats allowing them to sell another 650 before end of october.

If wakey sell 4000 memberships at £125 the revenue will be £500,000.

This will be a difference in revenue of £192,500. So whilst Wakey may be selling a cheaper product with the larger uptake we are predicted to have we will have a larger revenue stream from the tickets.

Also more sales from the food and drink outlets as more fans = more revenue.

My estimates for both lots of season tickets might be low.

Also 1st november prices go up to £150 we could sell another 500 at that price and then it increases again to £175 and i believe £200 for start of the season. So even at full price our tickets are cheaper.

Based on last season our tickets offer more value for money?

I cannot see why you are making comparisons with Cas Tigers. Different price structures, different package and CT have only started selling theirs from last week.

Yes they are. A membership is a season ticket. Gold = seated, Silver = standing, Bronze = 2 games standing plus the added benefits you get with the Gold/Silver packages. icon_thumb.gif

I'm not being unnecessarily critical just calling it as I see it at the moment, neither am I suggesting that either clubs fortunes couldn't suddenly be reversed by a happy/cruel twist of fate.

Hey Clan! Are you back now?

On the season ticket front, I've often wondered about discounted season tickets and their value to the club. As shown above, it is simple maths that higher price means same revenue with fewer sales, and also since the Bradford example, cut prices for too long can seriously hurt the club if you don't budget for the right numbers.

However, there are a few more factors.

As said, the bigger the crowd on match days, the more likely you will earn more revenue from the other revenue streams, but that is not massive. Shirt sales are more so, and people are more likely to be proud to wear the colours if they see themselves as part of a big group of supporters rather than a 1000 die hards.

But for me, the most important part of discounted tickets is that you are filling your “deficit” or earning the extra money from new supporters and sharing the load. To get to 4,000 tickets the club are working very hard, I’m certain harder than any other regime in the club’s history to generate interest in coming to watch Wakefield and paying early.

That rewards the fans at all levels. Die hards and passing interest fans the same.

If you go for the higher price to get the same money, it takes less work, because those die hards will always come, but you are going to the same source for money year after year. You are skinning the most loyal fans and not trying to help their cause by finding new fans to share the load. Their only reward is watching the team which is great of course, but no monetary savings. They won’t question it, but it won’t last forever either.

I feel the way Wakefield are managing the club, but especially the marketing of the club and the relationship with the fans is getting better all the time.

I really hope we get the 4,000 to repay their hard work on this. They deserve it. And so do we.

Pop Tart,
[iNot sure[/i

The club needed and still needs to regenerate the fan base (always will) and a short term lowering of the prices coupled with a better match day experience is doing this.

The increased attendances will eventually create a commercial imperative, ie demand will outstrip supply.

What an amazing thing that would be! SOLD OUT or ALL TICKET signs at every home game!

Sound ridiculous?

Our average home attendance need only rise by 25% next season to achieve it and given that last seasons attendances rose by 25% it's not impossible.
