We have informed the Club and hopefully the web site will be updated but its not the Trust's Web Site.
Some of us will be down there tomorrow night to inform people who have missed the announcement.

Think most people thought it was a curry & comedian night rather than a panel informing us of next steps etc, it's a shame but I've being celebrating for 3 weeks now just want to see the plan and get the bugger built

Just a thought - but thanks for having a go at arranging.'"
Thanks for the feedback. We're trying to find out if its the night that's the problem, the curry people don't like or the fact that people do not feel interested in or the need for a Trust.
If its the latter then we can disband the Trust and find something else to do with our time.

This Forum and the Facebook page said on more than one ocassion that there was a panel with Q & A's on the next stages in the process of achieving a new home. It could not have been clearer.

| All the audience with nights are well attended I think it's a mixture of holiday season everyone is skint and although it was a celebration evening there was no new news to be had which hasn't really captured the Trin fans imagination. We are Wakefield fans after all can be abit miserable we like facts not comedians, although that's been mixed up in the passed

Speaking to various people they said at the time that they wouldn;t be going as they didn't like curry, not my favourite but was going anyway!

A couple of pints in celebration information on the the next steps may have been better attended and no need to ticket it. I think have to pre purchase tickets and having a comedian put people off. The trust is a brilliant idea though how can you get membership?

We thought that people would like a laugh after all the cr*p we've been through over the last few years.
The next Trust year starts on 1st September and membership will be £5 if there is sufficient interest. details will be avialable shortly.

I think it's a pity that more fans don't see the value of a supporters' trust. However, it'll only have any real clout if more people join up. A total membership of a couple of hundred will have little or no impact, financially or otherwise. I was wondering whether or not to bother again, but now that Sandal Cat has announced the new low, low price for the coming year, it would be rude not to. I hope this offer persuades others to join too.
It's a shame the event had to be cancelled, and very disappointing for those who put the effort into organising it. Come on people, you'll struggle to get 2 pints for a fiver.

You're right we need more members and our aim with the £5 membership is not particularly to raise/increase fund but to get Membership up. The more members we have the stonger our voice.
The Trust was not set up to remove the previous regime or run the Club but to represent the Supporters of this Club so that they could have a say in how the Club is run by working with the Club.
If Supporters do not feel a desire to join the Trust or feel that there is a need for the Trust then that will be reflected in the Membership and will probably result in the disbanding of the Trust. If no one or insufficient numbers join the Trust it will be a worthless organisation and die.
The Supporters of the Club will ultimately decide the future of the Trust.

| I'm in the 'its a bit early to celebrate' camp i'm afraid. Thats not to say that i'm not eternally grateful to the certain people who have gone way beyond the call of duty to get us where we are today. But i'll not be celebrating til the damn thing is built. 30 years of being a wakey fan has made me ever the pessimist!
I will be joining the trust this time round though. Might be able to help with some marketing as well if need be to get the numbers up.

| No matter how people try to dress these things up, and all the cant that comes from the we will do it brigade,( how many tickets were sold?)
The apathy that this city has for its sporting clubs RUGBY UNION gone to the wall, WAKEFIELD F.C. stuggles.
It should be up to us to give that lead NO EXSCUSES.
All i can say is for all the people who do try sorry that the support you richly deserve was not forthcomming..

| Have to admit I didn't agree with a celebration yet, theres way too many hurdles to get over yet. All we are is back where we were in October 2010 when the council granted permission. There are still no guarantees that it will be built as there are more battles to come. The Methley residents are appealing the decision for starters and there are question marks over the funding levels we will have to build it with. As it stands it sounds like Yorkcourt don't have the funds to do anything, so until FPP is granted and the council release the £2million nothing at all will happen.
It would be nice to hear the true FACTS about the state of play as they stand, not positive spin or trying to protect the innocent, but and actual account of the plan and the possible pitfalls from now on in. Keep the people in the loop and up to date. Its a community stadium, engage the community. I'm afraid a lot of the information that has been but out in the public domain is rather woolly and as such people seem to think that then stadium is now a given. Believe me it is anything but and there a fews things that we need to know.
For instance has the section 106 agreement been signed and submitted yet? If not why not and why wasn't it already in place?
What are the grants we are going for and what impact on the design will they have? What are the chances of succesful applications?
What is the true state of play regarding Yorkcourt need to sell and build the B8 prior to the stadium build? Has any actually been sold yet?
How will the requirement for an archaeological dig on the site impact the build time?
When will FPP be applied for? Is it ready for submitting immediately? Who is paying for this?
Will Yorkcourt actually be doing the stadium build or will it be sub-contracted out to a company like, say, Langtree?
I'm sure there are other questions that could be asked but I think a few people would like to know the truth of the situation as it stands to stop the rumours that continue to circulate that the warehousing will be built but stadium will never actually happen.
That said what the members of SWAG have done should be highly commended as without their unwavering efforts then we wouldn't be in the position we are today. People like Phil & Jonathon have, and continue to, put their shoulders to the wheel to get better facilities for the club and should be given life memberships of the club whatever happens from now on in. Even if one is a rhino! But the people at the top, the trust board, Colin Mackey etc need to lay it on the line so we know exactly where we are now and where and when we are going to get where we want to be. Lets have some flesh on the bones please.

Likewise I'm afraid. Not quite 30 years, but until I'm in it, I won't believe it! (That and I work weeknights so miss most of these things!)

That was the purpose of the Event. The Forum/Q & A was for Supporters to ask the questions you have raised. The panel would have answered the questions that they could and those that they could not would have been put to YorkCourt and the Wakefield & District Community Trust. SWAG and the ST have been having meetings with YorkCourt and the WDCT right up to the Public Inquiry and gave evidence in the PI and that relationship is proposed to continue.
By the way Methley Residents cannot appeal the decision of the Secretary of State as far as I'm aware. What they can do is seek a Judicial Review if they believe and have evidence that the procedure of the Inquiry was not followed correctly. They must have some good evidence and plenty of cash if they are taking that route and all they would stop is the Stadium as the B8 developments will be approved in the LDF.
