Tend to agree with vastman is he getting out so when/if the sticky stuff hits the fan he can plead "nothing to do with me".Hes still a shareholder and director much the same as one that stood aside at another club before things hit the fan.Its quite odd that all this time hes been resolute in that hes the chairman and no matter what had no intention of standing down or so it looked.Nothing I would love more is for both clubs to be in the top 4 season on season just to put it up those at the rfl.

We will be sharing with Cas - it is inevitable, and has to make sense.
Remember it is going to be a community stadium and Cas is part of the WMDC community.
People on this forum talk about the great rivalry between these two clubs - with a shared stadium holding 12000+ derby games could be the rival of all the other so called big derbies, the place could be absolutely jumping! If we each have a stadium they will never be filled.......simple as!

From a fans perspective, I dont want cas sharing newmarket with us - They're our 'cross city rivals' and id love to see us bigger better faster and stronger with them getting left behind.

However, we all know that a ground share makes sense for so many reasons, and with us as the anchor tennant, It would no doubt crop up in the "we're better than you because" arguments.

Ive always regarded RW as a bit of a spin doctor, and I cant help but thinking he's stepped aside because he knows there is bad news looming for cas.

For every logical and financial reason it makes absolute sense, but from a RL sense it makes none.
Sadly the RL one wins, or things will have to change.

I wouldn't mind sharing if it was clear that we were not M................. Both clubs could use the NM stadium like Italian football and american grid iron thing teams do. But thats it.

Another excuse to create a merger either by incentives from the RL or Super league leaving room for another expansion club
Expansion is and has always been Sky's mandate to tempt customers

He got the boot because of growing impatience amongst the board & owner I believe, so as much as a few of you are trying to spin it into a bad thing for Cas...it's nothing but good news imo.

I don't think a groundshare is a good financial thing for Cas. They will never get crowds at Newmarket as big as Wakefield's, because it is outside of Castleford and perceived to be Wakefield's ground. So they will always be the poorer relation to Wakefield in terms of player recruitment, and therefore success, and therefore profits. If there is a merger, I reckon a Castleford side would emerge in the lower divisions, and Wakefield will be like the Huddersfield end of the Sheffield merger.

I would be interested to hear the Cas fans perspective, as to whether a Championship side in Castleford or a Super League side playing out of Wakefield's ground.
