That doesn't mean he's not England class.

| It's a selfish world.
The difference between this time round with Danny is I believe we match him in terms of potential.
We're a well run club now, rather than an extension of the Richardson family dining table.
Danny hated it here before, yet is reveling in the new approach & proving to be an astute pick in terms of vice captain, when most would have Washy in mind.
How good would it be to see Danny maturing into the captain of a strong team playing out of first class facilities at NM? Brilliant & even better he's a local lad.

| The Exiles games are the perfect opportunity to see if fringe players can step up into the England setup imo. It will be a complete waste if McNamara selects over the hill players like Morley & Peacock as well as proven non performers like Sinfield & Jones Buchanan. It is not a real International and with the World Cup coming up in 2013 i think players like Kirmond should be considered and i think he would do well.

I know for a fact that is not correct. Feel free to make any point you wish but best leave out the conjecture.

| Whilst I agree he has been playing very well, I think he is unlucky that we have such a high quality of backrow player at the moment.
I personally hope that they use Burgess as an out and out Prop which could open up a space, with players like Peacock and Morley missing out altogether. Sadly though I doubt this will happen.

Got to admit I thought it was pretty well known from the various people who spoke to him att that he enjoyed it here, that's why he came back.

| I reckon he needs to keep performing at the standard he has set for himself.
Whilst acknowledging that there is competition for places at the top level, I don't see where Wilkin has much more to offer - and he keeps getting the nod (not that I agree with it).

Reminds me very much of a young Gareth Ellis before the big step gave way to the offload game. If DK can make a step up in defence and find a little extra fitness he'll make the grade in my book. I too think he's got more to offer than Wilkin, who would look average in a Trin shirt, but that's just my opinion.

Yes and no. Yes, similar in the way they have gone from back to pack. Similar style etc. However Danny is 26 and Ellis was at the level he is now when he was 21! Ellis was the freak by the way not Kirmond. At 26 the clock is probably against him - in that IMO he needs to have a great season this year and part of next to really justify selection. Added to this the stiff opposition there is at SR it's a huge ask. Ironically it's Ellis who is most likely to keep him out.
Hope it happens but can't see it, think Danny is a few years too late hitting his stride - RL is cruel like that. That said hope he proves me wrong.

| I would like to see him involved with the Knights set up and see how he goes think this season may be a bit too far for him to look to a full call up.
If he continues to keep improving though there is no reason he should not have a chance for the 2013 World Cup.
At the moment we have in the second row the likes of -
Burgess, Ellis, Hock, Westwood, Highington.
I think Kirmond is in the group behind them at the moment and would do well to step into the Knights and make a claim on the elite team.

I think it's a damning indictment on the state of the British game if Peacock and Morley are still regarded as international props! They're spent at that level!

Peacock has been well past it at that level for years.
In Burgess, Mossop, and Graham we have the potential of a fantastic foundation of Props. To drop both experienced guys would be a massive call but it should have been phased throughout the last 2 years. Now we MUST drop them both and build some leadership from the new generation.
For me Burgess is should play Prop and be given the England captaincy.

| Not sure I'd make Burgess captain - may go for someone who is likely to have more gametime (and UK based so will play in some of the mid-season games) - say someone like O'Loughlin or Roby.
