Not really, mate, your post just seemed the most quotable.
We've read all this Hull FC been-there-done-that-got-the-t-shirt stuff a zillion times since Agar was appointed. It's just getting tiresome, which is why I said - enjoy what you've got now, and what you may get in the future. We'll be OK... we've come through greater hardship.

Worrying thing is not that many Hull fans warned us about Kear. Even Cas told us there was nothing to fear.

But they still wanted him out.
Pearson did the right thing when he took over - new broom and all that. He got a top man for the job, and has the money to do that. We got an experienced coach with plenty to prove, who had to build a new team from scratch. We should at least give him a reasonable chance to do it.

It might not be us fans giving him the opportunity though and that is the scariest thought. I think in the cold reality it's just familiar patterns that are giving most fans that ominous feeling, especially those odd good performances (Les Cats/Widnes/Wire) that may give the delusion that we are more than capable.
It's a very clinical deja vu that has probably robbed us of a few good coaches since 2000. I'm guilty of falling for this anomaly of memory more than most. Perhaps because I crave 2004 to happen again so badly I've grown impossibly impatient.

| So can one of you explain why the performances against Widnes, Warrington and Catalan are all just flashes that are nothing to do with him yet London and Cas shows he us rubbish?
You are just picking out small episodes to prove your opinion.
Doesn't make you right.
I'd rather believe that he and the players are taking time to build a team from scratch. You don't just magic up s team that can compete with everybody else. It could be 2/3 of the season before it starts working.
Getting Noble is just a short term fix. I'd rather get Kear back if we are going down that line.
Let's support the club, the players and the coach when they need it.
It's easy to call yourself a supporter when everything is going right. If that's all you are capable of you need to be supporting the Rhinos. That's not what we are about.....in my opinion.

That's the problem, those performances give the impression we are it. Then when we play lesser teams and get thrashed it makes us think there is a severe problem away from the playing field. "How can our players become useless and disinterested overnight!!!???"
We've had bad days at the office in the past and after a brief phoenix from the flames it's been a downhill struggle until the coach has been inexorably axed. It's like there is a curse.
If we had played crap in every game thus far with the odd ray of sunshine in the last 3 games then I'd hazard a guess we'd all believe we are making slow progress.

I want to see the back of Agar but Noble give up what would he do P off the young players sign the old guard and give us a short term fix hes a dinosaur who has had his day and before we go there JD and Morrison are not ready to step up
The fact is Agar is here to stay this season and next

I would expect his contract like most coaches will have some clauses in relating to performance so I doubt it would cost hundreds of thousands to get rid of him.

My take on it is, it's more to do with the fact that in the games we have won and those we have lost, there have been some constants, these being :-
(1) Poor marker defence allowing opposition easy yards from dummy half
(2) Failure to tackle round the legs allowing easy extra metres to be made
(3) Failure to move up in the defensive line and meet the opposition (stood waiting from them) thus making it harder to tackle them as they have built up momentum
(4) Inability to defend crossfield kicks
(5) Poor kicking game
(6) Strange use of the interchange bench
These factors have all contributed to us conceding over 30 points in 5 of our games, making it nigh on impossible to win them.
My frustration is that whilst up until the London game we did appear to be making some progress, these issues where still there and are factors which the coach should be addressing in training and/or replacing players who are unable to learn the lessons, with those who are performing well in the U20's. Agar seems to have done neither so far.
The last 2 performances have also seen an alarming dip in performance from a number of players as well as a distinct lack of the team spirit that has been evident previously. Again, the coaches job is to look at what reasons there are for the change in these areas and seek to address them. Unfortunately, I don't have any confidence that Agar is capable of doing so.

Your 6 points make familiar reading, especially numero 6..
The man mind boggled everyone with his interchanges 2 mins before half time.
Unfortunately you are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
I read earlier in the thread someone hitting on your team being much improved (on paper) and I have to agree, but he's a fantastic coach at training rugby out of people.. this year our underperformers of last season are like new players this season.
You have come through hard times so this will be a walk in the park for you dealing with him, but be prepared for 3 seasons of boredom and buck passing.

I think I concur with all of the above.
My big moan really is that 'old fashioned coaches' -if I can put it that way-picked a team of form players, not constantly picking the same players who were clearly struggling to find form. They were not afraid to drop names and even the mighty Neil Fox in his younger days found himself being dropped due to lack of form. Isaac John and Steve Southern have not yet, in my opinion proved themselves to be any better than players we already have. Big Frankie was making breaks last year I haven't seen SS make one yet! I'm not writing these players off mark you but the whole business of a large squad is not just to cover for injuries but to create pressure on those not performing. Some players are immune regardless of their performance. In past days they would have been playing reserve football until they regained their form AND desire to perform!

I can not believe AG gave Mr Agar a 3yr deal without it been performance related. that would be financial suicide.
Get rid of this over rated clown NOW.
We have a fantastic squad of players but no one to coach them.

| How the hell do you coach rugby out of someone. What an idiotic statement.
Are we seriously saying that we think Agar is coaching them to not catch the ball?
Seriously?
And the reason he keeps playing the same team is because the biggest issue is they are new to each other and need time. Won't help if you just keep changing the team.
I'm all for changes, but not for the sake of it.

I've kept out of this so far as I'm sure the very last thing anyone wants is Hull fans coming on here saying 'we told you so' and TBH you've had more than enough of them in any case. However, a couple of posts on here have been so eerily familiar that I felt compelled to comment.
Your arguments above are identical to those used by many Hull fans - myself included - who defended Agar during his early months at our club. When the exact same things happen at two different clubs you have to ask yourself where the common factor is.
Under Agar we showed the [iexact same[/i weaknesses and issues that you are now. Poor basic skills, poor defence, inexplicable interchanges, the same under-performing players picked week after week, etc. I'm afraid that this is down to his coaching.
Unlike a lot of Hull fans I hold no personal dislike of Agar (although I came close during the last few months of his reign) but I believe him to be a decent bloke promoted beyond his ability. He's a good assistant but hopeless as head coach.
