I was stood a bit further down right in the line between Wakey and Cas fans and to be honest it was a case of 6 of one half a dozen of the other. Saw one chap (wakey fan) with blood running down his face and a Cas fan near me who was saying he had been hit in the head by a bottle.
No place in it for RL but realistically, like I said - Bank Holiday (beer) + idiots on both sides + it being a derby = fracas. I was stood next to a couple of young Cas fans and we were chatting away quite happily at half time - only drunken s who ruin it for the rest of us. On a positive note though, was the best atmosphere i'v ever seen at BV.
If you were a licensee and ran your bar this way the authorities would shut you down. The club needs to look long and hard at it's responsibilities in how it is selling alcohol, because at present it just seems the only idea is 'lets open another bottle bar'!!
There is no control and has not been for a long time now, this is not an isolated incident and as for the North Stand farce the club has very nearly incited mass public disorder.
There was one humorous incident tonight when a Wakefield fan threw a bottle back at the Cas fans and pulled his throw badly, he hit another Wakey fan on the back of the head, the fan rubbing his head started shouting "I'm a Wakey fan you idiot!!"
Shocking reaction by our fans tonight, throwing bottles, i have been going down over 40 years,we got showered in beer.
I hope the club deals with these idiots. Not bothered who they were hitting.
No excuse for throwing bottles what so ever. I hope they get banned from the ground forever.
