I'd tend to agree, although it irks me to think that decent people would be denied a pint, and the club denied revenue, purely to mitigate the potential bad behaviour of a few idiots.

Perhaps a better solution would be, as you suggest, to deny access to people who are obviously leathered and then police behaviour in the crowd more robustly throughout the game; last thing we need is any negative publicity due to flare-ups in the crowd.

So if Cas fans get there first, you'll have no other choice then to stand elsewhere, right?

And i once recieved some verbal abuse from an individual that happend to be a castleford fan. Guess that means all Cas fans are the same?

we have had over 100 years of this fixture and folk standing where they like, it saddens me that there has to be any talk of segregation. Not only would it push Cas fans into one place but also home fans like to stand where they like and where they have stood for the whole of their Trinity supporting life.Its a family sport and less of the beer more of the soft / hot drinks would help.

Strange all this talk of away ends at our non-segregated ground. Cas clearly have a designated "away" end at Wheldon Road/The Jungle/Probiz Coliseum. I remember from last Good Friday stood in the end where all the Wakefield fans were behind the goal. There were a small number of Cas fans there for some reason; from what I could tell they fit one of these three categories:-

1. Bunch of teenage kids who got pleasure out of acting immature and thinking they are winding up the away support
2. Adult Cas fans who were clearly there to goad away fans, otherwise why be there? There was an unsavoury incident during the match where the goading very nearly got out of hand, thankfully it did not.
3. Respectable Cas fans who are actually there to meet up with friends who happen to be supporting their opponents. One such fan was stood behind me, I had a pleasant natter with him and shook hands at the end of the match.

No's 1 and 2 are not really there to enjoy the game and ruin the experience when their club has clearly tried to create an away end. No 3 are a real delight and I always have time for genuine fans who are good natured and willing to share opinion in friendly manner.

I wonder what the combinations will be once we "go north" on Friday.

And before any Cas fan cries foul, our club has not set out to have a designated away end so you cannot claim to have right to the north terrace.
