And with 15 minutes left we were a whisker from 20-24 down and in the ascendency. Maybe they didn't get out of first gear but maybe that was due to our efforts? They have been playing together for the best part of 2 years and have better players than us simple as. They are a well oiled machine, we aren't. Yet.

We've played 5 chuffin games, for christ sake!
You've put a positive spin on some real garbage in the past, because you're a fan of the club. Well time to put a bit of perspective into this, and at least give this new team half a season to find itself. If we haven't improved by then, fill your boots, but for now, at least give the players/coaches the same chance you were pleading for in the not too distant past.

OK Boss!
However, how much of this have you seen yet - I guess just the ones on Sky. We are making the same mistakes all the time. Put it this way, it's losing fans - one I know very well indeed has already told me she ain't going to any away games this season and will only go to the home ones because she has a season ticket. I may well be past my sell-by date, but I just haven't got the stomach for watching another season of losing rugby - it hurts too much.
But nevermind, we can all go and congratulate the players on their losing performance on Twitter and convince ourselves that we're 'nearly there'

| Perhaps its because my expectation's of this team were low from the start, but I've been pretty much entertained for all of the first three home games, same can't be said of the last two season's. I think the side has gone ok so far, and with a bit more composure could've had at least two more wins this season. I wasn't happy with Agar's appointment, but I'm prepared to give it at least half a season before I start judging this him and this side.

I don't know why you'd go for the "how many games have you seen" cheap shot, to be honest. No more or less than in recent seasons, is the answer. I've seen enough games as a fan of this club for over 40 years to be able to make a judgement, thank you. I still stick with Trinity, so why the snide dig?
You've put up with far worse than this in the past, and have actively encouraged people to attend and watch it. What's your problem now? Did you really expect us to put a team of world-beaters together after the franchise OK and be topping the table after round 6? You seem to have been willing to cut the Richardson/Kear regime a lot more slack than you're prepared to give to Glover/Agar. Why is that?

Wow there cowboy!
That wasn't intended as a dig - I know you get to as many as you can and you spend a lot to do so - no question about where your heart lies.
Having a dig back doesn't help either. I think the problem is that I have allowed myself to get drawn into expecting better BECAUSE we have a new regime, and I am utterly frustrated at our inability to get to where we want / need to be.
No, I don't expect us to be top of the table, but we have played, IMO, some winnable games - and haven't because we keep making the same mistakes every week.
So apologies if you thought I was having a dig, but please don't go looking for an angle that doesn't exist!

They may have been winnable, but that's in part due to the players we now have. Forget the "we won this game last season" stuff... if that held true, we wouldn't need to bother playing at all. "We keep making the same mistakes every week", but until you've played together as a team for a reasonable amount of time, you will keep making the same mistakes...
Give it half a season, and look for improvement then. Certain things we can't change, like the need for a block-busting prop or a proper kicker... those things are obvious to anyone, even Agar... but at least give the coach some time to mould a team together. Widnes beat Wigan this afternoon... hey ho

But if that's the point, how come we were winning games this time last season? The team then were largely new / thrown together - and on a tight budget, but we found a way to win then and we need to do it now.
These players are, IMO, better than last years, but there is little evidence to back that up and they need to provide that themselves - to stand up and be counted; take a game by the scruff of the neck and take your team-mates with you. Until they do this, they are as yet no better than last seasons squad - and that for me is an under-achievement and we need to accept that in order to get to where we all believe we can be.

| This years team are better than the rubbish we saw last season because when we lost last season we were absolutely battered most times. We are not being blown away this season and have been close in all games so far i think. There was no middle point last season. If we lost last season it was embarrasing. I would be surprised if we did not win more than the 7 we did last term. And i would be very surprised if we had the shambolic points diff that we had last term. We have not been great so far this season. Last season was shocking.

Like I said - you can't judge a team or an achievement on the back of 5 games. It may take this team half a season to gel... we may have a cracking 2nd half to the season. Most other punters on here, whilst disappointed with the results, are happy with the way we're playing the game. The crowds are up. The team aren't losing deliberately. Have faith... or hope... or faith again...

| you can give a team and new coach as long as you want to gel but if you are missing one on one tackles and making basic unforced handling errors then the players have to shoulder some of the blame.

Don't think we need a thread. The results will continue to do the job. This will be the 1st season where a long string of defeats actually is good news.
