| Or fox letting the drop out go to touch. There were several turning points but you have to give some respect to the HKR defence

| I thought our forwards did okay today, but were let down by our half backs. Tim Smith showed glimpses but even with all the possesion in the second half, we never really looked like scoring.

| Quote: Spongebob "Was Mariano just before for me , just had to catch it to level it up - thought we could of won it from there.'"
I agree Spongebob, that was a huge turning point and that's the thin line in this league in a close game between winning and losing. We made the space brilliantly for him to fall over the line but it came at him too quick and they went down the other end and that did us. On another day and a less heavy pitch we would have won, disappointed but not disheartened, well done to Hull KR they took their chances well, am pleased with our fitness, at 15 to to we were still looking strong, onwards and upwards to our next game Bradford in a fortnight.

| KR's defence was insane but in an old fashioned boggy game your big men must tire a side when they get so much possession. I think we played too anxious with 20 to go and with no urgency with 10 to go, so a lot of work needed. That said I still think the game was there for the taking today so it's not all that bad. Big worry is the too chances they had after big defensive stints and I think if I'm not mistaken they went over on the 1st tackles.

| KR defended better than us and took the chances they had, best team won on the day.
We got bullied at times but with our pack its a valiant effort.
Would like to see more from TS and IL in attack, they did not ask any questions today.
Hicks is clueless. he just makes stuff up, and i think KR fans will agree.

| Listened on the radio and we sounded like we were in it but lacked that killer blow and the ball didn't stick at crucial points. Fair play to KR for the defensive effort when we were camped on their line for several sets in a row.

Kr's defence was unreal, I felt too many of the wrong players took a drive at the line. It needed Raleigh or big Ali crashing onto it wide but it never materialised. The slight of hand that was seen at Widnes seemed to have gone and some of the laboured passing was to the floor or not quite in the bread basket. Cockayne had a few gaps out wide to take on but kept opting to come inside, but he still played well and looked our most illusive runner.

| Felt with Rovers having no recognised playmaker at 6 or 7 for 45 minutes Wakefield would have ran out winners in the 2nd half. As expected we looked rudderless going forward in the second half, Just glad you don't need halves to defend our own line.

keeping us out with 12 men gave you 2nd wind, I think that's the turning point. A try for us then and it could have been different.

| As I predicted a narrow win to Hull KR.. They played well, good defence and solid in all areas. We got in a tug'o'war on a sticky surface and with their dominant and bigger forwards they won that battle. Our halfs didnt really click and shows that we will need a fair while to gel fully. Some poor defence for their last 2 trys, and a couple of mistakes wrong options when we were attacking cost us the game. Fairly content though we were competitive and will be in most games, give us time to gel and a faster surface we'll be alright. Not playoff contendors but we'll do ok.
Bit dissapointed with the attack.. but we've got to give it time.

| There was a lot of encouraging signs and when the ground firms up and with a few more games under our belt we will be competative this year.
I feel we have a lot of skill out wide in collis, fox, cockayne and mellars my only reservation is Isaac he seems very meek and has not taken on the opposition line but again with time maybe we will see more from him.
Tim smiths passing game is first class and his organisation is there would like a little more support from washbrook and Isaac. I am very impressed by Aiton he looks like he will be a standout this season and with Wood looking lively when we get quick play the balls we look dangerous.
Our kicking game does need to improve and a little bit more composure at the right times then we will hopefully be treated to some entertaining rugbythis season.

| We made a ton of half breaks but couldn't quite push on in the mud. I thought Smith was actually dangerous but he was a like a new born foal trying to run at times.
At the end of the day the mud and puddles were the thorn in our side.

| Most people said it before the start of the 1st game and watching today it was clear that some of the pivotal positions didn't quite click, especially in the second half and it was a reminder that things will take time and we're a new side. Saying that the game as there for the taking with a little more composure and one or two correct decisions from the lads. Epic defense from HKR in the second half and deserved the win, still happy enough with the overall display and there were some stand out performances from a few of the guys.

| I would not call 22 - 10 a narrow win.

| Fair dos to Rovers. They deserved it. Especially playing so long without Dobson. They stepped up a gear 2nd half with the man in the bin. I did feel the very muddy conditions would favour the more powerful team and so it proved. We can be proud of our effort but lacked penetration and organisation near the line. Found it strange that Andy Raleigh wasn't put on when we had those repeat sets. He was our best go-forward man whenever he was around. Ben Cockayne MOM for me. Still plenty of positives despite things not really running for us and I think we'll do better on drier surfaces. Finally, an excellent gate with a special mention to the KR fans who applauded Cockayne and Fox very sportingly before the game
