The penalty count should have been more in our favour, Thaler let a lot of stuff go. Widnes' discipline was awful, high shots, obstructions you name it.
He cant give Widnes penalties if we do little wrong

We owned the first 15 mins and should have posted a couple of scores, Widnes then, on the back of a positive penalty count put us under the cosh and then in the second half we slaughtered them and with Widnes resorting to head shots (and getting penalised for them) we put the game to bed.
Dont you think our defence deserves credit ? it was immense and we defended with as much intensity as I've seen for many a season.

A good win but lets keep our feet on the ground. Widnes were pretty poor and will be better when they get Briscoe, Watts, Phelps and Kite in the team.

That said I thought our defence in the first half was fantastic and even with a 10-4 deficit at half time I was confident that if we got a fair share of the ball in the second half we would come out on top. Very pleased with the spirit we appear to have - Ali Lauatiti was going mental when Widnes passes into touch he was fired up that much.

A good start and I think as the team plays together more and more we will improve even more and trouble some of the top Clubs but we have to deliver next week against Hull KR as they are one of the teams we must beat at Belle Vue if we have play off aspirations.

Overall very pleased with the start and now looking forward to next Sunday.
