Quote: bren2k "I wouldn't criticise the moaners too much - if it wasn't for them, the evening wouldn't have happened.

It's a good illustration of what a positive force the ST can be - 'critical friends' I believe is the expression; in short, you'd rather have your mate tell you that you've got a bogey stuck on your cheek than a complete stranger.

Everyone should join the Trust - the more members it gets, the more the club will listen to and respect it.'"

Not sure about bogey bit but the rest of is spot on, its a win win and all positive, long may it continue.

Lets keep moaning in the right way.

Really pleased we were able to stave off Shuds attempt to lure Walshaw.
I like to think of myself as rational, but I am developing an intense dislike of Huddersfield .

correct in what you are saying but you don't want the tail wagging the dog

I support this scheme and would love the Wakefield public to take it to its hearts too and make it work

So what you are saying is that this meeting would never of happend if people didn't moan, I think you are wrong but, thats my own opinion, AG,JE and lets not forget the other staff that work hard are moving the club forward, and this meeting would have been in the pipe line like other meeting that are coming up, I have nothing against moaning but some times it it get bit of a joke, but ay each to their own moan away icon_thumb.gif

No one can say "never" but it happend sooner rather than later and its good to find out whats going on, it shuts the moaners up if you like.

So stop moaning icon_wink.gif

I think the main complaints from folk were along the lines of...
1) there hardly ever seems to be any winners apart from a £3000 once every three or four months.
2) not so much the 1873 thing, but more recently retaining young players doesn't appear to be that high on the agenda, look at the number of young players that have moved on as not wanted. therefore, why put the work in for Shudds, etc.. to clean up our talent afterwards.

Everyone who hears about the work that is happening are in favour, but I believe, that if there was a prize of £500 or £1000 at every home game, then there would be more interest in the scheme. And as for retaining young players, thats something that only the club can sort out.

All that you've put has been addressed though hasn't it and as far young players it very much sounds that the club are very much on top of that.
Which number of young players have the club let go recently and which would you have kept because they way you've worded that it sounds like there's loads left.

No, I'm just stating facts.

The ST board met and discussed the issues that people on here were expressing in respect of Club 1873; we decided to pass those issues on to the club and ask if they could do anything to address them - a few days later, the Q&A was announced.

Make of that what you will - personally, I'm a great believer in constructive criticism and I believe that on this occasion, it's driven some positive action.

Ok how much is it to join the ST, if other fans was invited to this said meeting we would be clued up, but there is far too many fans that moan for the hell of it , invite the every day fans then they can join the ST at the same time icon_thumb.gif

It's £5 to join presently, £10 is the full years membership, it's been well publicised I'm surprised you didn't know.
Had you been a member, you would not have attended a board meeting, you would instead have been made aware by posters from the ST that things were in motion.
So stop moaning! I hate moaners!!! icon_biggrin.gif

All fans were invited, that was made clear. It was not a case of 'moaning', it was a case of wanting to know what we was getting for our money, which at the time wasn't known. Its called constructive crititcism. The club responded and credit to rhem for doing so. All is now well, so no problems.

Maybe some self-righteous fans should stop 'moaning' everytime someone dares ask a question of the club.

I believe the term is 'This'!

We are all supporters of the club and want the best for us, for the club and for the City of Wakefield, but that doesn't mean we can't question the club when we think they have got something wrong - in fact the club welcome constructive comments and IMO we have a duty to speak up on such issues, otherwise we have no place to comment.

So let's be clear - we need the 'moaners', provided there is reason behind their moaning! c015.gif

The impression that I get from AG and JE is that they openly encourage supporters questions. The ST is a great platform for us to have an influence the running of the club, every supporter should be joining. The club are trying to be open and honest about the way it is being ran. Can't wait for the season to start so we can get on with the rugby and the small matter of Newmarket. Keep the faith. icon_razz.gifRAY:

As another poster has commented the tail should never wag the dog, but it's nice to know we have an owner and management that listen to the supporters and act accordingly, if it's a goer.
Many of the changes we have seen over the last twelve months , have been mentioned prior on here.
Long may it continue, it's a million miles away from life under the previous regime, who only wanted to converse with the supporters when his begging bowl needed filling!
