The other friendlies are more use for that. This one is to see how our younger lads are coming on AND to give a Championship side a reasonable run out without steamrollering them. I'll be there.

Why not contact Mr Glover and ask him to stage the game at a loss - then follow that up with a second complaint demanding a reason why we can't afford an extra prop

I don't have a problem with anyone deciding that they have better ways of spending their money, after all most of us only have a finite amount of it. If someone feels they are not getting value for money for £10 then let them stay away.
What I do object to however is the need to moan and bitch about it to anyone who will listen. If you don't want to go, don't go, it really is that simple. Just don't start whining to others who are quite looking forward to seeing some of our younger players being given a chance to impress.

The first team are going to France on Sunday for a weeks camp and then playing Catalan which, with all due respect to Sheffield,will be a better test.
Nobody cares whether you and your mates go tonight but I guess the coaching staff will get a good idea what the fringe players can produce against decent players. That's the whole point of the game!!!!

The more I think about this game the more I appreciate the significance of it.

We are all very happy with the recruitment this close season, in fact I don't think anyone could have done better and, considering all the clubs have had longer to put their squads together, I am satisfied that we have, at least on paper, either matched or bettered some clubs.

But.... we all know that the game is very much squad related these days. Puffball clubs with vast resources do better because they can afford strength in depth, and that is the same in RL - possibly more so given the physical nature of the game (although SC rules prevent complete domination). We may have the best 17 players, when all are fit, that we've ever had in SL, but we know that getting them on the pitch in the same game once would be a miracle, let alone for the bulk of the season, so it is vital that we are able to call on players who can at least 'plug a gap', and hopefully a bit more - whilst continuing their development.

We will see a lot of these 'kids' this year but, based on the short viewing at Leeds, this excites me rather than worries me! I have genuine hopes that several of these players will become firm favourites at Trinity for several years to come and whilst the 'hired hands' will take the limelight, it is the maturing of these younger players where the real work is being done to build a succesful future for our club.

I'm amazed (I'm not that amazed really!!!) that we have supporters complaining that our youngsters aren't going to get a chance, and yet we have others complaining that they won't pay a tenner to watch them stake their place in the squad!!
Only at Trinity!!!!

It will make for a much better game, as Eagles have a few out injured and about 7 suspended from the Grand Final fight so we'll have a few youngsters on show too!
