2 years.

The club can confirm that no discussions have taken place regarding the final year of Mathers' three year contract (2013) and that he will be free to face the Tigers in all competitions next season.[/i

Personally not bothered he has left really, he reminds me of a turnstyle. When anyone comes to him he does a 360 and the opposition player ends up scoring.'"

I would say Cockayne to the wing and Tony as backup

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_5733.jpeg

Personally never rated him although he did have an impressive career at Leeds. you do not go to the NRL and top clubs in the UK if you are poor.

Very much a confidence player, if he starts well he could be an excellent signing, bringing experience a cool head and good organisational skills.

It is how he reacts to errors that for me is the area of concern. Once he comes up with one error his head goes down and the howlers seem to come thick and fact.

Never seemed to settle anywhere since Leeds hope he finds a home at Wakefield his head is in the right place and he can become a more consistent performer than he has been since his Rhino's days.

He can be a good player on his day, but these tend to be the days he is not tested too much defensively!
I think his main problem is if he makes a mistake, he tends to make another, then another, then another and so on. One mistake can lead to a nightmare of a game, then one nightmare games leads to another, then another and then another. He seems to be unable to mentally overcome errors or poor games. So as long as he doesn't ever make a mistake.......................................

To me a cracking signing thought he was stand out last year for them. Millward told him to go away and find another club because they could not afford his wages, but the lad kept turning up.Along with Masky a top notch signing.

Unfortunately he stood out for the wrong reasons more often than for the right ones, although he did seem to play well against Wakefield.

Milward told him he wasn't wanted because he wasn't our first choice fullback and we wanted to spend his wages on a centre instead of having him as a squad player.

Wouldnt have said he was a stand out player for us last year- chase, huby, orr, arundel, thompson, emitt, milner, clark, owen, youngquest and dixon were all far more important for cas last year.

Mathers is clearly a confidence player - if we're putting in some decent shifts and on the front foot a bit more, he may shine; either way, he's certainly a full back who will add an extra dimension to the attacking line, which we haven't really had for ages. Just hope he's hitting the tackle bags during the off-season.

He does strike me as a belligerent type, so if he's coming to us with a point to prove, there's every chance he could go well.

One request Richard - lay off Twitter.
