Russ Spiers (2013)
LOOSE FORWARD
Danny Washbrook (2014)
Kyle Trout (2012)
Sammy Massellot (2012)
Annekin (2013)
UTILITY
Kieran Hyde (2012) FB,W,SO.
RUMOURS
Danny Kirmond - Second Row (Huddersfield)
Isaac John - Stand Off (NZ Warriors)
Ewan Dowes - Prop ( Hull FC)
Ryan Tongia - Full back/Wing ( Wakefield)
Ben Cockayne - Full Back/Wing ( Wakefield)
Andy Raleigh - Second Row/Prop (Huddersfield)
Matt James - prop (Championship)
Bob Beswick - loose (Championship)
Looking at the list there are 2 clear areas to improve, no doubt the 4/5 signings will cover this. HALFS, PROPS.
Halfs - Isaac John alone would improve the halfs and allow Moore, Wildie to battle for the Sh slot. If we were to get Burrows/Smith then we would look very good there. Be happy with John though.
Props - just lack that 1/2 props. Dowes looks nails on for one so that would be a solid signing. Would like to see one more though. Trout could cover If needed.
We look strong particularly at Second Row/ Centres at present. We have good depth at Loose, SR, Centre.
Overall, we look stronger than last year already. A few shrewd signings and we should be poking around the playoffs in 2012. With the investment made, not unrealistic.

| I'm going by the fact he has been a regular stand off in the vulcans team that reached the grand final. I know it's not NRL but it's still competitive. He also seems to have some fans over there and would have seen more Nrl action had he not had Maloney and players in form ahead of him.
I also don't expect him to come over and score 3 trys a game and set up another 3.
I believe he will be an improvement on the makeshift SO we have had at wakey in 2011.
He will be judged on his performances like all players.

It wasnt a direct criticism, so please dont take it as one, just a general feeling that a la Millard and Hickey, who werent a great success for very differing reasons, this guy is being unfairly talked up, and if he turns out to be average, and lets remember hes a young lad going from toyota cup to senior level (not that there is probably much difference) he may be next years scape goat for no fault other than we have built him up to be something he isnt.
Having said that, and needless to say i hope hes a real star, and rips teams up for us for the next ten years or so, but a modicum of restraint is all i am suggesting, and like you say lets judge him on what he does, (and not what we have led ourselves to believe he will do).

| I agree with you. In all honesty none of us will know how he will turn out at Trin till he's on that pitch and showing us. I think most of us fans will give him time to settle.

Given today's events, by that time he'll also be a permanent feature in the England squad.

His shirt number is 6. His profiles are halfback. The coments from aus posters are he's a half.
He has played some games at loose for vulcans and also in halfs. His nrl games have been covering Maloney in halfs too.

| From what ive seen and read about John he is a Half back but the Vulcans coach uses the loose position as an extra half in a similar way that alot of brit teams use it as an extra prop their coach uses it as an extra Half its an interesting way of playing the game i suppose as there halfs seem to rotate around nearly all 4 positions SO,SH,HK,LF.

Yes I know. Doesn't alter the fact that his has been recently playing loose forward! More a case of pointing out he has some versitiilty and i'm assuming his defence is pretty good for a halfback.

| You have missed off Kyle Amor from your list. I was hoping he would sign for us but it seems he likes it across in West Yorkshire lol!
