| Quote: Lupset_Airport "I also don't agree, Kear is a wonderful man, don't get me wrong, but coach wise he is outdated, doesn't have the ability to evolve and the fact he gets unbelievably excited by the simplest RL action when he's co-commentating speaks volumes. I think maybe Vasty is somehow sub-consciously linking to better days/times in the past with some of his opinions, which isn't a crime.
I hope he goes well at Batley, where he can perhaps start to afford to experiment a little more and he maybe gets a chance to have a crack at us or Cas in a later cup round.'"
Spare me....

Still think he could have a role as a director of rugby at a SL club but not a hands on coach any longer.'"
Very Harsh. I think he is far too good for Batley to be fair ! He is a SL coach without doubt. If Kear was the Bradford or Salford coach this year they would have been in the 8.

| Quote: Khlav Kalash "Agar?'"
Agar to be fair does seem right out of the Noble nursery school for coaches in a similar way to John Sharpe as well. As vasty points out though whilst he has made mistakes he has only had 1 shot. Hopefully he will learn from those and adapt, that is the problem with it seems all English coaches, their failure to adapt sees them become dated very quickly in a sport taken to new levels year in year out by the Australian thinkers.
In truth I have seen nothing to think he will be any more of a coach able to bring stability to the club for a future coach who may well see Trinity as a more attractive prospect in 2 or 3 years time, and if he does that in my opinion he will have achieved his remit as the next Wildcats Coach.

| Really do wish the man well. He was the original saviour of our club keeping us up with those amazing last six games. Not been helped with player budgets but he's gone gracefully and by the sounds of last night he's extremely proud to be a part of our history and rightly so. Good luck John you deserve it

He will find and develop players on a limited budget - Lets face it he's had at least 5 and a half years practice.
Don't put JK in the same category as McRae. Mr Pringle can't coach unless he's got the full salary cap to spend.
JK has managed on a lot less.

It speaks volumes about the fact that in that situation, he's being paid to commentate on a RL match and make it sound exciting; nothing else.

Quote: jonh "i did not expect you to agree and you did mention wigan, you are an odd obsessed man.
In relation to Kear his methods are dated and will continue to regress every year.
I think it is an indication of how he is thought of now that with all these top flight coaching vacancies that have been around he has not been strongly even linked with many, maybe Cas at a push.
Its a sad reflection on most if not all of the English coaches at the moment not just Kear.
You could quite easily change the name of Kear in the above post to Noble, McDermott, Cullen, Harrison etc etc.'"
John Kear left Wakefield and joined Batley because he wants to work part-time and do other things. He had been offered other roles and turned them down www.itv.com/yorkshire/batley-bulldogs09451/.
No coach English or foreign could have done much with Wakefield this season.

Most Wakefield fans would agree with you. I'd like to see a close working relationship between Batley and Wakefield in the future, and really hope that Kear brings you success.

I third it, and have no doubt that JK will bring his considerable contacts and influence to bear, to the advantage of his new club - it's a great catch for Batley and I wish them and him the very best of luck.
