If Richard Agar was the best of seven candidates, I'd love to know who the other six was!!!!!

As much as it was a time for a change of ownership and change of coaching regime at FC, I also think Agar himself needed a change too and I think it will do him the world of good.

He has been at our club a long time and given great service. Yes for various reasons it's not worked out with us but his recruitment has been good on the whole so who is to say he can't do the same for you?

Plus I doubt you will be paying him the earth salary wise (compared to other coaches on the market)...so you never know, Rich Agar could turn out to be a decent for you and get your team challenging for the playoffs again.

i think ag as done a very good job its a lot better than the other lot but please tell the fans what is happening most of us will back the club but we had enough ofl lies last time please come out and dismiss or confirm the rumors

like most people from over his way, richard agar can hardly speak english. he may have the best tactics, the best coaching methods, but nobody outside of his shabby homeland can listen to him for more than 10 seconds without switching off.

Why are people being so nasty about somone they don't know. Think about it, would you like someone talking about your husband/wife etc like this all over a public forum. It's totally out of order. Can't say he would been my first choice but I wouldn't dream of slagging the man off as I don't know him. If he has been chosen for the job he should be given a chance. After the previous regime I can understand the feeling that it's jobs for the boys or friends but if that's what has happened the JE & AR will be judged on the results on the pitch.

i think je has gone with his heart rather than head and got his old pal in, he carnt have been best candidate for job surely?? if true think it a backward step inmho and think will affect getting supporters back and excited, hope i wrong tho

The way I heard it was that Crusaders bid was so weak that the RFL told them to pull out. This was done to save face for the RFL so they didn't have to admit their mistakes in bailing out Crusaders and to give them an excuse for writing off the money they were owed.
So actually had Crusaders been in a position to carry on I believe that they would still have been the ones to go, but this way it casts the RFL in a slightly better light.

I'm not in the business of making personal attacks on the fella - for me, it's about his suitability to lead my club.

I'm afraid that this type of scrutiny comes with the territory in public-facing roles like this; those people who can't stand the heat should probably exit the food preparation area, if you get my drift.

I'm going to wait till the appointment is made before I form an opinion. All the statements from the club suggest it's not Agar, Elston reportably said it wasn't Agar and Andrew Glover seems too shrewd to alienate the very fans he has just asked to sign up to the 1873 lottery who also happen to be the 2,500 he wants to buy season tickets. Speaking of which, the £100 offer ends at the end of September, he knows some are waiting for the announcement so he can't wait till October to unveil the new coach, and if it's Agar he'll probably miss that target anyway. Based on that I can't see why someone in his position would appoint someone so unpopular with the fans when he needs them on side more than ever.

Another theory, people were praising Glover for his PR skills the way he announced the new signings last month. Maybe he knows (through James Elston) that Agar was to be released by Hull and knew that it would be widely assumed that he would be coming to Wakefield. This negativity would then make our announcement all the more sweeter when it's not Agar, again bringing the feel good factor back to the club? Just a thought.
