| Throwing should not be tollerated so for me it sounds like the stewards did their job.

| Daddy cool came past me before the game and threw at least 2/300 mini choc bars at the crowd, not one single steward tried to throw him out.

I got dirty looks a few years ago for telling kids to stop chucking sweets at the ref as he stood near the touchline for a kick - if one had hit him (Klein) we could easily have been kicked out of SL for an Opal Fruit!
Singing, chanting, jumping around - OK - in fact I'd like to see and hear a bit more of it, we could take a cue from the Wire fans last night. Throwing stuff, even playfully, should be met with zero tolerance.'"
well throwing stuff at refs is a diferent matter, like the time when Wally Lewis was sent off at Headingley and snowballs were thrown in the refs direction.

| I think to be honest, there was some off the cuf, decision making by certain stewards at the game.
On our way into the game, a steward was trying to stop the Warrington drummer from taking his drum into the ground by basically trying to drag him back out through the turnstile , the drummer was having none of it. The steward claimed it was policy that "the drum was not allowed in the ground"?
This may well be the case I don't know, but personally I cannot see what harm a drum can do, if anything it adds to the atmosphere and certainly the Warrington fans seemed to enjoy it.
At the end of the game as we tried to pass from the western terrace to the bar we were stopped from passing as we were not allowed to go past the Sky equipment, however the stewards were allowing supporters back through the in the opposite direction. At that end of the western terrace stood the wire support accompanied by the drummer and the previously incensed steward, so why if it was policy was the drummer still there and why was the steward stood within 20ft of him.
As for the incident with the toffee missile, I saw a couple of youngsters being marched out through the donny rd gates one of the stewards doing the escorting was the previously mentioned steward.
I'm not saying this individual is wrong or out of order, but I think the stewarding in general may need looking at by the club.
If as mentioned by others, the benidorm flats bar was being used by away supporters, stewards are incriminating innocent supporters and perhaps making up their own rules, it would be naive at best of the club not to ask questions of the people involved.

And a simple explanation of that - an apology (as given) and a severe warning would have been more than appropriate.
I do not tolerate bad behaviour and have had run ins with previous stewards over the lack of action on occasion, but in this instance the judgement was way too heavy handed.
Just following the rules is an excuse often used by people who lack the skills to be able to make reasonable judgements - and stewards are some of the worst culprits, albeit they have a difficult job at times (although often they make it more difficult due to the afformentioned skills deficiencies)

Indeen the not letting the 30 or so Wakey fans walk from the end of the Wetern Terrace to the bar after the game was a classic example of this. We personally had walked through there prior to the game so was strange we could not then walk back the 20 feet instead of walking the whole way round the ground.

| No RL club needs fans throwing bad fudge passes to mates. It's just not necessary. Eat the fudge yourself, or pass it accurately to your chum, in such a way that he can pass it on if he can put the chum outside him into space. Well done the stewards for clamping down on bad passing of fudge.

| I know gates aren't where we would like them, but should we be encouraging fudge munchers?
If you must comsume confectionary mid game, what's wrong with a fishermans friend? or if you must a werthers original!

I'm a happy depressive - the glass is half empty but the bar is open.: |
|
| It's great that they took action but worrying that they 'positively identified' the wrong person - this is the bit that worries me. If the actual culprit hadn't admitted to it then what would have happened ?
And without wishing to fugde the issue, why is there more than one flavour of Werthers Original ? Surely only the first one can be original ?

| We complain when they do nothing. We complain when they take action. He should have been thrown out for throwing any kind of food regradless of who it hit or where it landed. I assume the fudge was ruined and nobody ate it what a waste. What next throwing pies? If that happens then I for one think the culprits should be shot let alone kicked out of the ground.
Was also pleased to see them taking the drum from the Wire fan about time all musical instruments should be banned from sporting events.

That's the most common sense we'll see on this matter; you have to clamp down, otherwise this kind of outrageous behaviour will escalate out of control. We've already seen gratuitous fudge-passing - what's next, grubbering an Opal Fruit? Place-kicking some Skittles? Show and go with a fun size Mars Bar? We're gazing into the abyss here people and only a zero-tolerance clamp down will send the right message to these miscreants - Rugby League is a family sport, and we don't want your confectionary based criminality on our terraces.
