| Why was it that when London and Crusaders fell over, by and large other clubs did not immediately come in for their players - yet when you fall over the vultures are straight in?
Surely there cannot have been some edict from Rot Hall telling clubs hands off for those two, yet no such edict for you guys?
Can't think of anything else though that would account for the dramatic difference in circumstances. Any of you guys got any ideas?

The Parkin none deal cost the administrator's a fair wedge and the sales were to recover this, or so I think I read in one of the many links on this forum.

It certainly feels that way; from the outside looking in, one could surmise that the delay in declaring Mr Glover a 'fit and proper person' created a convenient window in which the administrator could fatally weaken our playing staff. An uncompetitve WTW would make the pre-determined decision to boot us out of SL a much less politically uncomfortable one for the RFL to spin.
To quote the late, great Kurt Cobain, "Just because you're paranoid, don't mean they're not after you."

Do you not think the players have a right to worry about their future career, Family and income ?.
If my job was at risk or i was potentially not being paid. i would be happy with being sold off to another club who will pay my wages, Especially when that club is guarenteed to stay in the elite.
If the ship is sinking then follow the rats and get overboard before its too late.

What has that to do with my question?

I would want proof that they were told they cannot approach a player. As much as i do not like the RFL i cannot see them putting themselves in a posistion like that with club, Its open to legal matters then isn't it ?.
I think its probably just Hear-say or the players were under contract and therfore unapproachable.

Apparently it came from Stuart Duffy of Bradford Bulls.
Quote: Faxhali "Well, I was at the Bulls fans forum last night, and the question was asked if the panel (which consisted of the head coach, ceo and chairman and Stuart Duffy) if they felt it was right for clubs to be cherry picking Wakefield's best players and Stuart Duffy mentioned that a few years ago, when quins were still london and were in a similar positon, that bradford had been interested in rob purdham and had been warned off attempting to sign him by the RFL.'"

When has that stopped the RFL?
They also announced several months ago, despite not having seen a single licence application, that one club would be removed from SL in the coming round of franchises and one would be elevated. In so doing, they let us all know that the whole process of setting (fluid to suit the circumstances) criteria and appointing an 'independent' assessor to judge the applications is a total sham.
The problem with any legal challenge is that the clubs are too skint to mount any action and if they did, they'd be frozen out forever. Also, there is very little outcry when the RFL behave like this, since very few people care about RL. If this were football, it'd be all over the media.

You have a MASSIVE chip and then try to put the boot in afterwards.

when wakey entered the super league after winning the first division, the SL were not forthcoming with any money for the promoted team, hence a payment fron FASDA to help their move upwards, somewhere in the region i believe of 150-200k, with assurances from the trinity board that they would fight the corner and vote with any motions put up by the lower leagues ...... of course this bit was forgotten, as you seem to have concerning the payment from FASDA
sat here mate, no chips at all, a smug grin on my face, and enjoying every minute of it
and chissit mate, surely you have a better come back than that, half of ponte ? trinity would be happy to own half a yard at your ground at the minute
looking forward to the derbies for the next few years .... our home games will be where we've always been, yours will be..... where ?

I'd prefer not to have your sort on here now, if you'd please. And that is stated with due consideration of what the swear filter will not let me say.
