I was referring to the statement from the club. They never say it as it is, rather tip toe around the 'issue'. The lack of communication from the club is thoroughly frustrating

I agree, I was refering to the way they tip toe round running the finances of the club properly, hence the lovely city breaks to London ted seems to love so much!!!icon_biggrin.gif

So, its been a formality then. Trin have been contesting the amount that they have to pay, the HMRC mechanism means that the tax payments need to be reviewed in an official capacity to ensure the amount is correct (rather than casual because the payments will relate to a legal agreement and if the sum is incorrect then it shows a Governemental Dept to have made an error), so they have met with HMRC to discuss this as a matter of protocol. Trin aren't taking the mick, they are paying up, the two parties are in open and co-operative dialogue, the issue has been formally highlighted, so the tax man can go off and do his sums.

This doesn't strike me as something to worry about.

Trin's season's ended, they've had a big off load of players (whose contracts they will have hadtosort out) and are looking at finalising contracts with new players, there's this issue with HMRC, which will have taken a fair bitof work and they have to work towards Oct 22nd as well as considering applications for new backers.

We all know Trin aren't the richest of clubs and for a professional sports club are probably woefully understaffed. On the one they can't openly discuss a lot of issues yet until its resolved and on the other, considering how much work the above involves, they probably haven't got the time to put together a series of press releases, do interviews, contact media outlets etc etc.

I know its a frustrating situation for a fan to be in, particularly after the season we've had, but have faith and let them crack on and do what they need to do. Afterall Trin are hardly strangers to adversity!

I wouldn't want to see the tax man twice in a lifetime, let alone twice in a year, thanks but I think I'll worry a little bit if that's ok.

is it a 3 month adjournment which was agreed prior to today because we have had 3 different accountants look at the books and they can't agree with each other never mind hmrc? feel like fiddling my self assessment which ngbfc knows all about due to his skynormous earnings!
