I will be buying my season ticket I will see it thru, they are rubbish but they are my rubbish and have been since the mid 60's
Unless its peanuts, I wouldn't be happy with him being retained full stop

| I'll be doing the same as I always do - turning up for a couple of fortnights a season, buying loads of t-shirts and a replica shirt in the shop (if it makes me look more handsome - hard to achieve, I admit), going to the Catalans away game with some mates from work, if the fixture is kind, and hoping against hope that my team will do well. Simple stuff, but I don't ask for much in life, except a smile and a beer.

I would buy the Gold season ticket, but I want to see what I'm going to be watching before I do.
There again we could sign top line players and lose them all halfway through next season.
Looks to me as if I'm culled

That's the thing, isn't it? You could sign the best players in the world, they could be crocked after a couple of games, and then what? Season ticket holders baying for blood... complaints about cheap offers to get the fans in because you can only field a reserve team... It's all a gamble ateotd. You either want your team to do well, and support them, or you don't really give a monkey's one way or the other and turn up when you fancy. Simple choices.

Did'nt mean injuries, they are part of the game, what I was getting at was what happened this season.

I know you were. But there's no predicting either, is there?

it will be interesting to see our season ticket numbers when we do renew at the end of september, we had no. 380/381 this season it doesn't make good reading around £66k at this stage last year,
how do you entice players to come to Belle Vue, play in front of a poor crowd with no atmosphere, it takes money of which we don't have,
so if it means that my club that I've supported all my life is offering me a good priced season ticket then I will get one, as I'm a true tight and wouldn't want to pay the £18/£20 on the day if I hadn't got one,
value for money at £12.50 a game, I've thrown more money in bait into the water and caught nowt

Over-feeding the swim. Fine lines, small hooks, and little and often will get results.

| If I had gone to that match not knowing what had happened in the previous ten Wakey matches, I would have just thought that we tried to be creative, but were beaten by a very capable team and would have had no complaints. On that basis, I have no complaints.

Hmm - not sure it's quite so black and white as the two positions you've described would indicate; there is, at risk of coming over a bit Blairite, a middle way.
You can, for example, also want your team to do well and support them BUT be reluctant to splash a sizeable chunk of cash until you see some evidence that your commitment is being reciprocated. That doesn't indicate a lack of commitment or not giving a monkeys - in my case, when I'm faced with buying season tickets for myself and two kids, it just seems like good sense.

| Each to heir own, but holding back revenue in the hope of seeing better players recruited is only hampering the clubs ability to recruit said players. If a sizable portion of the ST holders, which there aren’t a great number of by the way, even after a relatively successful season in 2009, decide to hold out then what is an already hard job in enticing players to come to BV will become even harder.
The club have made the full season ticket affordable this year with the instalments. As far as I’m aware they are not even charging an admin fee/interest for this facility. Whilst it is a lot of money to fork out in one go, it’s hard to argue with £29 a month for six months. Junior season tickets are superb value, even with the dross served up on the pitch for the majority of the season, at £20.
Supporters are quite understandably annoyed with how this season has transpired, however, if you want a better one next season then the only option is to help the club in their recruitment/retention drive.

All sensible stuff, but the club singularly failed to put my ST money to good and prudent use this season; in fact, as far as I can see, they replaced excellent, well-paid players with bargain basement tat, if they replaced them at all.
That being the case, despite the logic of your argument, I'm holding out for now until either my annoyance abates or we make some decent signings, whichever happens first.

| Quote: chissitt "If you are a Rams supporter then I would say you do right, but if you are a Wakey fan then by doing that you are denying the club of revenue by getting a ticket for a tenner in the con club, the one crumb of comfort that it will leave you with is that when the club cannot compete for the better players because of lack of funds it will give you something to moan about while watching the Rams play, btw I hope its stays fine for you.'"
I guess you didn't read my following reply, as i said i am a family season ticket holder, cost me nearly £400 for the last 15 years, I don't buy tickets in the con Club, i know they are sold week in week out by people who are given complimentary tickets, TBH last Sept we sold roughly around 400 season passes, compared to HKR who sold nearly 4,000 what does that tell you !, And 1 crumb of comfort when you order you season pass, just wonder how much the stewards make by opening the gate in the north end and take a bung to let fans in denying the Club of much needed revenue....

| The reality is, i've seen worse, i'm not overly happy with how the season has progressed or the lack of news regarding signatures, nor am i in the John Kear fan club. That said, i've seen this club in worse positions and battle back, which makes all those season's of woe pale into significance.
We're now on the brink of something very special in my opinion. What the club really needs is not for fans to desert it, but to stick by it and continue to show their support so that it can flourish. Yes it's hard, it's often depressing and frustrating, but that is sport. Nothing is ever easy in life, but through the ashes the phoenix rises, and i know i don't want to miss what could be a massive season for Wakefield on & off the field.
I'll be buying my season pass, i'm not sure i'll be able to make 50% of the games, we'll take some thumpings, we'll surprise some teams but mainly because i want to get behind the club and continue my support for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats at a vital time in the clubs history.
I'd hate to miss out on something very special just because of 5-10 games in the history of the club
