The Tories always have been, and IMO opinion always will be, the party for the well heeled AND business owners. Thats why they support Newmarket - from a business viewpoint it ticks all the boxes (and by business I mean wealth producing enterprise, not wealth consuming enterprise like...somewhere else).

I don't care if this is the reason why they are supporting the Newmarket project, at least they are supporting it and if they were in control of the council then Newmarket would have council support and this would mean a very good chance of the project coming to fruition.

Completely agree. I've always voted Labour in general elections, but never at local level during the time I lived in Wakefield. The local labour party simply didn't represent my interests, and the monopoly they hold over Wakefield is unhealthy.

When the original poster lumps together economic migrants and people seeking asylum from war ravaged places (and arguably the aggresors they suffered under), then perhaps it is understandable in not attempting to reason with them, as a) these are massive issues that if they are to be discussed, deserve more than a byline on a rugby forum, b) this is a rugby forum and c) the tone of the original post suggests that the views of Kinleycat are fixed to the point that engaging in debate would achieve not go anywhere positive.
