| Quote: Slugger McBatt "Quite balanced for you, old chap.
The threat of it getting called in won't matter, as it will get looked at anyway. The issue is whether or not it goes to a public enquiry, which it probably won't, as they are expensive, and as the land is scheduled to be redesignated as development land anyway by the council, it would be seen as an expensive waste of time.
The rail links is a good point, but equally the pre-existing congestion at Glasshoughton could be a factor in favour of Newmarket. Would the other businesses want the whole place swamped by rugby-only fans every week? It would put other punters off.
Planning permission is a good point again, but that is all in the hands of the council, who could have given us outline permission last week if the wrecking ball hadn't started to swing once more.
There are pros and cons to each, but the debate boils down to rugby rivalries, and it's as simple as that. The council holds all the trump cards at the moment, and you know what they say, that the house always wins.
It is amazing how knowledgeable you can sound when you have a pint with Sandal Cat.'"
I think your right about xscape being against it, I mean they have only known about it for about 6 or 7 years which is obviously not enough time to think it over. And they are only sponsoring the tigers so they can afford to stay at WR, and I bet the free use of a unit in the complex to show case the stadium is some sort of way of letting them know they are not happy at the thought of 8-10,000 new punters turning up at their attraction. Why not write them a letter and tip them off to the mayhem all this custom will bring them

| Quote: Slugger McBatt "You speak to anyone in the know, and I have done, and they all have the same view of the situation.
My view is that his rugby affiliations should not be even part of the picture, and that it is his professional and civic duty to do his best for the district as a whole. If the proposals are not good enough, then fine, that's the way things go, but as I have said in a different thread, the outcome of an "independent" feasibility study can be determined by the scope of the question it is being asked to answer.'"
These people in the know should report Box to whichever authority deals with dodgy councillors, unless he is a scapegoat for if it goes the way of Glasshoughton.
This study and its decision is not binding, both clubs can make the decision to go their own way, and if all is rosy , cash wise for Newmarket why all the fuss about 2 million you dont need, unless thats another line you have been fed and the money is not there for your ground .
Personally I do not want a shared ground wherever, it can only end in tears for one club or the other.
Even now some people are discussing mergers and being in favour, the RFL will love to hear this and will try that one on sooner than later.
What a mess

| Quote: Wildthing "Edited for accuracy.
Newmarket is around 4 miles from Wakefield and 5 miles to Cas.
Glasshoughton is 1 mile from Cas and 8 miles to Wakey.
Thats why it would be more conducive, its more even in terms of distance for each supporter to
travel. Not Rocket Science is it?'"
So you want a groundshare in Wakey but not in Cas, whereas the logical site is in Cas but lets ignore that because you dont want it.
Lets abandon the whole groundshare issue and just carry on from one crisis to the next.
At least if it goes tits up Cas still have their ground for what its worth , and could carry on , what will Wakey do, because you didnt want to travel 8 miles?

You are failing to get my point.
Its a pro due to the location being more central to Wakey and Cas than GH. (Most 'outsiders' and supporters of other teams see that a pro!)
On a seperate note (nothing to do with pro's and cons) I personally will not travel 19 miles (roundtrip) to a home game. Not don't want, won't.

19 miles roun trip is too far! Come on, it's nothing compared to the distance some people travel to home games. I bet that includes lots of WTWC supporters

And you are failing to see my point, you want it in your back yard and the rest can go to hell, well it may surprise you to find that Cas supporters want it in their back yard too.
Lets look at a typical matchday in the future, arrive at exscape have a wander round and a few pints before the game, watch the game in a purpose built stadium, out for a bit of something to eat at ione of the many food outlets and a bit of shopping to pacify the mrs then on to the train for the journey home, as opposed to turn up, show the family round the industrial units and mebbe a burger at the van, watch the game in a purpose built stadium , out for another look at the warehouse then into the car for the drive home.
I think you will find , visiting supporters would prefer the first option
It really is a no brainer isnt it ????
you cant beat a day out with the family looking at industrial units can you .......... nosirree

4.3 miles from Wakefield is not in 'my' back yard. You really are not grasping my point are you?
GH is in your 'back yard'. NM is not in our 'back yard'.
If you don't get this point, don't respond. Converse with someone with more patience than myself.
Your failure to grasp my point is exasperating, and I have no more desire to try and educate you.
Thanks.

Of course i get your point you want Wakey in Wakey, quite right too, but you have to see the other side, we want Cas in Cas, and we will never agree on this idiotic plan to share.
As for educating me , you are letting yourself down with such childish statements as that .
Are you 'newgroundb4cas' in disguise ???

So, you haven't got my point at all.
I have no desire to continue this conversation with you.

So the only advantage to you of NM over GH is that it would save travelling an extra 5.2 miles and because of that you would not go to see a WTWC home game at a shared ground. I give up!
