No, it isn't. That would see the death-knell of Castleford Tigers.

| Well something doesn't add up here. Earlier this week we had Dick Wright promising plans will be out shortly and full planning permission will be going in. We also have Sir Rodney and us saying it's full steam ahead! So where does the Wakey Express headline come from? Just a cheap headline hopefully! But what is worrying is that all we have at the moment from both clubs is nothing but hot air!

| Don't understand!!
If both schemes are (fully?) privately funded, why is there a cash shortage? What does this have to do with WMDC, other than the planning permission? Are the council putting any funds into either (or both) of the schemes? I was under the impession the answer was no!!

And what does this have to do with council? Neither club is asking for handouts from the council so where has this come from and why?
When are SWAG going to release their statement?

Which is why a groundshare is a last resort - and it should only be agreed if the RFL allow us more time to get the stadium in order in a completely neutral location away from Wakefield and away from Castleford that is not Glasshoughton and not Newmarket - i.e. Normanton.

It must be a hell of a value,in order to give them this amount of control over two essetially privately funded developments.

So I'm guessing the idea behind it is that two pieces of loaned land = more money in the pot and one stadium built quicker?

| people need to get rid of their king Canute idealism.
the tide is coming in and if both clubs dont move they will be drowned.
newmarket geographically is the only logical location available.
its not the ideal location, but its certainly the most logical.
neither club can realistically stand on its own any more, lets progress - share the venue - but keep our individual identities , and lets both survive.
widnes and other clubs are just waiting for the demise of one or both clubs

| Why is it logical?
The logical one IMO is Glasshoughton - transport links, entertainment and outline planning permission. The MAJORITY of it sorted. If Wakey came on board at G'houghton it would mean funding would definitely be there and the stadium WOULD be sorted for 2012.

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |

I love this city,
this is my town.
