| Quote: MOPSEY LIVES ON "I for one am now sick and tired of 2nd and 3rd and 4th best. we've had our chances, as a club, to move forward several times but have allways gone back in the end.'"
Overall, it’s a well thought out post and I can't help but agree with most of it, however the quoted section is frighteningly true!
We have to temper our despondency with a little bit of reality. The last 35 years have been tough on the fans, the club and its image and peoples wider perceptions of its worth.
As stewards of Wakefield Trinity the various Chairmen and Directors, who are charged with protecting and preserving its legacy, have lurched from crisis to fire fight and back again.
Sometimes those in charge have been the problem and sometimes they've been the saviour but I have no illusions about how difficult the task is or has been for all of them. All we can do is as fans is support the club through thick and thin and hope that one day we find the ingredients that will return us to the top for a while.
I know this much, without the club to support over the last 40 years I would have missed out on some emotional extremes that have both tested and elated me. I've had my head in my hands in despair and my arms raised in celebration. What else might I have done that would have taken me on that rollercoaster journey, fishing, cinema, a ride on my bike, I think not.
So I'll hang on for a while longer and see how the present challenges and dilemmas pan out, who knows
maybe this time.......

Surely this is the case with all Super League teams apart from Wigan and Warrington?

| Supported Wakey for 48 years and have never felt as despondent as I do now, even in the 'darkest days' in recent years.

| My problem is the way we are being run as a business...have we got all the right people in all the right places?
At this particular time more than ever it's absolutely critical that as a business (which we have to view ourselves as) that we are doing every little thing right.
Going back quite a few years before reality tv really kicked in...there used to be a programme where the very successful buisnessman Gerry Robinson would go into failing businesses and spend time there and break everything down and tell them exactly where they were going wrong and what they could do to turn things round. It was similar to Ramsey's kitchen nightmare's but years before.
The guy is a genius at what he does and always used to turn them round with harsh decisions.
It would be fascinating for something like that to happen to us...an outsider come in and have a look at how we are doing things and where we could improve... I always remember Gerry's favourite word and the one he said was a 'potential' disaster in any business, and the word was...'Nepotism'!
Work that one out....

| I agree with a lot of that mopsey. Whats frustrating we have looked to move forward we had a team but our chairman did not kick on, we will allways be in the doledrums unless we get this ground if we get this ground we may
kick on.

| I have been supporting Trin since I was 13, (20 years - which makes me feel very old) and I too are very dispondent with the current sad state of affairs. Match day mornings used to be exciting at the prospect of seeing the likes of Willow, jacko, Pricey, Slat and Wrighty play their hearts out for a club which they obviously loved (until money talked - Jacko in particular). Now even with a season ticket, I'm thinking 'do I really want to go and 'waste' a couple of hours while I could be doing something more practical at home'. The answer so far has always been a yes and I find myself walking slowly towards the turnsiles with trepidation and the thought of another drubbing. I don't mind loosing - as supporters we are certainly used to loosing many more than what we win, its the way we loose that really annoys me. The players on Sunday were passionless, prideless and totally useless. JD tries, but the body isn't what it used to be and we certainly miss Sammy when he's not on the field. 13 Sammy's and we would be top of the league!
There isn't a solution. Yeah we all agree that we need local lads in the side that grow up wanting to play for their local team, but as soon as they show promise off they go to pastures new and a larger bank account balance that what Trin could afford.
I'll be there on Saturday, but I doubt I'll be loosing my voice like I did each week in the 'olden days' but I've already decided that for the first time in my 20 years, I won't be getting a season ticket next year. I will still go to the matches, if nothing else to act as Taxi for my dad, but instead will be making use of all the offers and discounts that seem to be popping up more and more each season. Lets face it, every penny helps!

While i agree that would be the way to go, you have to want to listen and make the hard calls and for me that won't ever happen at Wakey.
I'm intending to win the euro millions and if i do my first stop will be BV.

| No talk of any new signings for next season. How are we fixed financially now our attendances are down? Do we have any money to spend? Will Ted put his hand in his 'deep' pocket?

Penny and Jessie Joe Parker are the only two, i would expect to see a fewto leave us so we will have to find some players.
Well i reckon we'll be skint but eh stayaway fans will be back later, or so they think.
I doubt he will and if he did maybe just that fluffy stuff would come out.
