A bit harsh that one Anybody can break a bone.
Also I don't think you can blame Kear for Newton taking drugs.

Sorry, I should have put "in my opinion" based on his leadership and ability. I think he would have made that extra difference, but as you say theer is no real evidence to prove that.

I agree.
And I'm not sure Millard is a sicknote either.
And he picked a good player in Tronc. I'm sure he wasn't the one organising his lodgings.
Johnson and Kirmond are proving to be good acquisitions in my opinion.
.......so the post is pretty much trashed then!

| Most sensible and rational post I have read recently.
Quote: PopTart "I think you are missing the bigger picture here.
As an example, saying we have lost 200 games is just throwing in a stat for the sake of it and not understanding what it means.
Since we have been in Super League we have
Played 319
Won 117
Drawn 2
Lost 200
Win percentage 36%
Without John Kear it was 31%
Since John Kear has been at the club
Played 100
Won 48
Drawn 0
Lost 52
Win percentage 48%
Before the bad run he was at 50%....that is a regular play off place.
There is a long way to go before anyone can say Kear is not good for this club.
Basing decisions on the future of the club on 5 games, or even 14 so far this year is showing a lack of understanding of how to run a business as big as this.
Along with that I'd say even disregarding the players leaving the club, if Morrison had been playing we would have won the last two games. It's just a slump. It will change and then change again before the season is out.'"

And your suggestion is who exactly???
Given that investing in the club can't give the sort of returns that normal business investment would be expected to generate, anyone buying Ted out would need to be a fan who doesn't expect much (if any) financial return on their investment.
IMO anyone buying the club would be waving goodbye to the best part of a million quid straight away to buy up the shares that have been issued and get the business on a sound footing. That's before they do anything to attract new players (who would need to be "big names" to help build crowds). There would also be the need to put additional cash into the business as and when needed.
If we work on the assumption that we're looking for someone prepared to set aside up to £2m over the course of the first few years of their investment and that they probably can't expect to get a return on that money, we really need someone who has a hell of a lot of money going spare.
Out of a core support of around 5000, I think we'd be very lucky to have 1 person with that sort of cash available to them..........unless of course last week's Euromillions winner is a Wakey fan!!!!

| I said the same thing about the euro millions !
All I'm going on really is that I've heard of different groups involving Toppo & Eric France have wanted to take over in the past but on the proviso that Ted goes - obviously this was a no no as far as Ted was concerned - but ( again hearsay ) the France bid had a big backer (aledgedly !).
So if this was true , maybe we'd be have Myler, Monaghan etc . not has beens for JK to work with .

Ifs, buts, and maybes.
The "Topliss consortium" bid was a complete joke. The France bid, well... if you think how quick they were to ditch their motor racing sponsorhip as soon as their own business slumped, you'll be glad they were never in charge of Trinity. The France bid had a big backer? Ask yourself the question - who would be a big backer behind a scrap metal merchant to buy a rugby league club? Couldn't they afford to buy the club outright, if they were such a "big backer"?
The only interest anyone has ever shown in Trinity has been because of the property development potential of Belle Vue. Now it's been sold, take a look and see where the interest lies. That may well apply to the present incumbent, but at least he's thrown some of his own money down the bottomless pit that is Wakefield Trinity Wildcats too.
It's euro millions or Ted Richardson. Big backers my big hairy butt.

| With regards to the sale of Belle Vue, I know it has probably been put on here previously, but who has it been bought by??
I only ask as I was told (by a friend of a friends, sisters, auntie) earlier this week that this had fallen through but as far as i was concerned the monies had been paid and spent???
