Charnley is a reserve regular and Malloy a player who's played half and half at both levels but the rest are Under 18s regulars. We could have taken further advantage of a blank reserve week but glad to see we didn't.

A decent turnout but the lads DESERVE MORE BACKING, what more do these lads have to do to gain the support of Wakefield people.

| Absolutely outstanding effort from the boys tonight.
Wigan will be playing us in the final on the 3rd October mark my words, they're the best team I've seen by some distance.
The defensive effort from the Wakey lads tonight was immense, Wigan must have had about 60/70% possession in the first half and looked very sharp, I think against most other teams playing like they did they would have been 30+ points up at half time. Not against our lot though the heart and desire was superb.
The second half we were probably the more dominant, but Wigan still looked dangerous and again our defence was magnificent.
The pattern for us this season has been to grind teams down in close games for the first 50/60 minutes and then take them apart in the last 20, this was never gonna happen tonight against a team as good as Wigan but we never panicked and always believed in ourselves. Thought we missed Southernwood for the spell he wasn't on and I'm not sure why he went off, but it didn't matter in the end.
The scorers for anyone who is still reading were Dale Morton with a good finish from a good Danny Cowling offload and Danny Cowling collecting Matt Wildie's kick through to score, the first was brilliantly converted from the touchline from Southernwood and the other two points came from a Jordan Grayston penalty, the Wigan try was scored by their stand off who's name I didn't quite catch.
Edit:
Hard to pick a man of the match in such a good all round team effort but I thought Chris Annekin ran the ball in strong and came up with some massive hits in defence, Adam Slater ran well and Matt Wildie I thought had a good game and looked dangerous. For Wigan the fullback looked good and very pacy, the scrum half looked good with a good kicking game and their loose forward looked very good and even had the referee in his pocket all game.

I haven't a clue, the score line expressed how close these two teams was, being biased I would say that wakey had the stronger defense, but wigans attack kept coming, got home to hear John Kear shouting their praises on sky tv

| Iam glad I went down to the game, it was a good hard game of rugby, with the Ref slightly spoiling the game , not a bad turn out, but I hope more fans will back them in the final....

Thought Wigan certainly got the rub of the green from the ref, not as bad as BIGAL would have you believe from his shouting during the match but there were a few bad calls from him mainly when Wigan were not square at the marker usually after strong drives and quick play the balls from Annekin.

| Superb defence tonight. In the first half we got battered for long periods and over the course of the game saved many Wigan tries with try saving tackles on the last on our line. Well done all.
