Have you ever thought he may make more tackles because he is targeted by other teams due to his failings?

My maths isn't brilliant, but Dobson has made 103 more tackles than Brough but missed only 38 more. His tackle and missed tackle ratio is much better than Brough's, I'm afraid.

James Graham tops pretty much every statistic, but that doesn't make him better than Peacock or Morley does it. Too easy to get caught up in that. Ultimately, if only half of those missed tackles from Dobson result in tries, it's still enough to cost KR more than a few matches.

I don't like finding myself in a position of defending another team's player over one of ours, but I am sticking up for Dobson, not putting Broughy down.
As KR finished above us, your argument doesn't seem the strongest. Dobson is a very good player, and consistent with it, and unlikely to cost a game (or be suspended for one) due to a brainstorm. I would have Dobson in a Wakey shirt in a heartbeat. Also, surely a prop can be measured in stats, as that is the job of a prop, yards and tackles.
Also, looking at that dream team, if that is a measure of form, looks like a Leeds-v-Hull KR final.

Back to school I'm afraid. Brough misses one tackle for every 6.22 he completes, for Dobson it is one every 4.53.
Other than that I agree, he is a quality player and I don't think there is masses to choose between them on balance. I'd personally take Brough though as I think the Lord of the Rings look with dodgy stripe beats the premature balding fish mouth one.

Agree and it is crucial to take stats in context but Dobson has been superb for Hull KR all year, Brough has blown hot and cold.
I do rate Brough highly but Dobson in my opinion is in there on merrit as being the stand out 7 this year by some distance.
Think it is a pretty accurate side in my opinion although think Menzies and Locky have been slightly hard done to, especially Locky who has been superb is a team that has really struggled this year at times.

I got the calculator out too, but I have to confess that I wasn't sure if the bigger number was better or worse. And he's got a worse error rate. Hey, I'm coming round to his way of thinking!

In fairness the last solicitor's bill I paid showed an even greater disregard for maths as far as I was concerned.
As for the SL stats on that site, I'm not so sure about them, I'm certain Brough has kicked 40-20s this season.

I think they make them up half of the time, some of the stats for Fielden have been a joke claiming he made tons of yards forwards in a game more than Coley when infact he has been handed his rear and put on it after every driuve he has taken in some games.

Hardly big time cocky charlies every Wigan fan to a man knows we have been poor this year often abysmal, Locky has been a stand out performer though top class this year.
I have seen many KR games this year and also many Trinity games in my opinion Dobson has been the driving force behind what has been a very good season for KR.
Brough has been very good too but has had a quiet spell mid season.
You do not have to be a good team to have 1 or 2 good players in it. Look at Barrett for example in his first season at Wigan he was regarded as the form standoff in the World but he was still part of a very poor Wigan side.
Locky has been superb in a team that has struggled and even silenced many of his harshest critics, namely the Wigan fans. Sinfield is playing in a dominant team and has not performed to his standards in my opinion, and when they have been put under pressure he goes missing.
If the press are so keen to praise Sinfield it would be interesting to see how he went playing behind a powder puff Props like Locky does 90% of the time.

| No real surprises in there for me.
It feels strange though with us having our best ever season and not really having a standout candidate. Blaymire and Snitch have arguably been our two most consistent players over the full season but Brett Hodgson was absolutely nailed on for the fullback slot, and not sure Snitch would have stood out as much to outsiders as he would have to fans who watch him week in week out.
If the positions were over the last couple of months Sam Obst would have absolutely walked it IMO, but Scott Moore has had a very good season overall.
On a sidenote I'd love to see JD be recognised for the way he's led his team to our greatest finishing position and points tally in a season with the added burden of wearing the number 8 shirt. There would be no more deserving player and man for the man of steel award this year IMO.
