| looking at the potential squad for next year i think that a second rower would be 1 of the 2 (not sure if Bibb will still be here next season) and a back someone who could cover wing and full back possibly

| I reckon we need a prop forward for starters, I think we need cover in the 3/4 if Martin goes too. Would love to see Chris Bridge for the centre, dunno who is available for the prop slot though if JK thought the same as me.

I'd have said a prop is the last thing we need. Korki, Stosic, Tronc, Bibb and Moore - how many do you need. It's the back row that is slim with the loss of Snitch and Wilkes IMHO.

5 props, its borderline for me - you will use 4 of them every week without exception. There are 2 question marks at the moment over the pack for me, firstly the dury is still out on Kyle Bibb for me - might still be young for him to show what he has got, and I am not 100% convinced he has it regardless of age. Secondly, will Richard Moore bulk up over the off season, or do we plan on keeping him in his more streamlined 2009 shape - I understand the reasons why he lost the weight but we may chose to leave him this size or chose to try and bulk him back up (if medically viable).
I think we could use somebody like Thackery maybe as good back up, but I suppose the ideal signing would be somebody who could play both front and back row should the need arise, could the previuosly mentioned Westwood do this?

| I think the extra quality in the front row will allow us to utilise more options off the bench.
Instead of having to have three big men on the bench in an attempt to gain the ascendancy over the opposition's forwards we now seem to be trying to achieve the same thing through quality.
That allows us to fill the vacant spot on the bench with a player chosen for tactical reasons.
For example, having Brad Drew and Tevita Leo Latu on the substitutes bench often left us short of firepower up front but gave us more football options.
The alternative was to have three big forwards on the bench but that left left us trying to shoehorn Brad Drew, Danny Brough, Sam Obst/Tevita Leo Latu and sometimes Scott Grix into the 17.
The quality of the first choice prop forwards available to as next year will mean that John Kear can select a player for the bench who is hand-picked to perform a role against that particular opposition.
This type of quality in the squad means the coaching staff don't have to trade off one thing from another.

So you think we will go for a bench of:
14 Hooker
15 Prop
16 Prop
17 A.N Other depending on game/conditions?

possibly so,
what I'm really saying is that John Kear has the option to make two tactical selections on the bench without having to worry about watering down the forward firepower.
I'm sure there will still be games where we need to select three big forwards +1 on the bench but that will be through choice depending upon the opposition rather than a necessity.
