| Quote: Uptoncat "I thought about him but could you imagine a half back pairing of Brough and Henry Paul. Price would also be the ideal man for us this year, everyone has written us off and that would p15s him off he'd batter everything that moved in to the ground and run his blood to water for the cause. Still undecided between the two! Rich Slater is also worth a mention Prices prodigal son not quite as good as Price but worked just as hard and tackled everything. I've played with Rich and his commitment to the cause is unreal! A true pro.'"
I considered Slater when thinking about this question. Not sure he would be the ONE player I would bring back but I think at the time he was awesome at what he did. I remember him several times making all 6 tackles in one set.
I think I'd have to choose Henry Paul if I could only choose one.
Honourable mentions also for Billy Conway and Nigel Bell.

| Big Dave Solomona, absolute assist machine in 04/05 magic offload skills to boot, and a tough character! still remember him flooring Chris Nero at Belle Vue in 05, what a strike!

| NIgel Bell ,played in some crap Wakefield teams but always gave his all.Was our best player for a good few seasons but stuck with wakefield.I think he would of played for GB had he been at Leeds.Must admit Ray Price was fantastic also.

| I know I have already chosen (Wally Lewis) earlier, but given our current problems in the back row, I had hoped someone might pick Bill Ashurst, who was the equal of Solo in ball-handling but was quicker, sharper and stronger (before his knees went )

| I'm a little biased here but I would go for Wally Lewis.
He was a footballing freak!
Think Trent Barrett X 20
Lockyer X 5
A Johns X 10
The bloke could fight, kick, pass, step, run, hit, cover, take bombs, lead etc.. etc...
He stood up when it got tough and stepped up when it got tight. I've never seen anyone like him before or since.

| Yeah Mike Lampkowski, the only scrum-half I ever saw who could run through prop forwards. The man was phenominally strong and would have progressed into being one of Trinity's great loose-forwards if his career hadn't been cut short by injury.
It such a pity that the advances in knee surgery came too late to prolong the careers of some great Wakey players like Lampkowski and Ashurst.

| I was at primary school when I saw Lewis and TBH remember little of it. I think based on the weaknesses of our squad, it would be a pcak man - one from Price (R), Solo, Pochin or Fritz.
Just for fun though I would love to see a young Nigel Wright (Yorkshire Cup final vintage) playing outside of Broughy. If you would indulge me enough to pair Atkins with a young Alan Hunte in the centres I'd be most obliged also
