Or and by the wayvi dont have an agenda with club i think MC is doing a great job with what he has, the squad is what it is a little unbalanced in my view but covid aint helped and i really hope im wrong but with the squad and performances of the last 18 months cant see anything else than a relagation balttle one i do think we will fair better than leugh in'"
You mean DANE WINDROW! So that's the whole basis of your argument, I asked for peoples opinions on one player and that makes me clueless
Yep, your right his is boring if that's where we are at.

| So from League Express, available Props
Remi Casty
Weller Hauraki
Junior Moors
Tom Olbison
Ukuma Ta’ai
Kyle Trout
Obviously some are quota but of the two that are not, maybe Trout might be the best bet as a backup player, short term contract, see how it goes. He was ok when he was with us. He also did ok at HKR, although clearly not well enough.
He's certainly got the experience and at 29 he's probably at whatever his peak is.
All the same, slim pickings.

I think I saw that Trout is going to France.

Slim pickings indeed.
We were rumoured to be after Moors last season, would be a big risk with his recent injury although he did still look really good when he came back into contention, although as I say a risk especially with the fact that we would have to ship out an incumbent overseas player which at this point for us are all know quantities.
Both Olbison and Trout would be decent squad players for us.
The closer we get to the season the more I believe we will start with Tanginoa playing at prop, which whilst I don`t believe it is his best position, he still does a very effective job there, If we don`t sign anyone I think we will rotate Fifita, Green, Arona, Tangata and Tanginoa in the front row (The chances of at least 1 of them not being fit at any time is high).

| I saw that Holbrook had said they had been developing Joe Batchelor to play prop (Which I was surprised at actually) but there is plenty of competition in front of him at Saints, I wonder if he would fancy a season with his brother, provides us with some much needed cover and gives him a chance to get some game time.

True but only if one of the other four were injured, even then you could get longer minutes from 3 props and still play him wider. If two props were injured you'd have to consider him first choice, as you say not ideal but still very effective.
If we can pick up Battye or similar then this scenario becomes less and less likely. Sadly I don't think either Trout or Olbison are as good as Battye.

Almost forgot about Battye, if we can sign him up we certainly look a lotter better stocked in the front row. I imagine as well young Aydin will probably be earmarked for a few games next season, although he is no where near the finished article he certainly didn't look out of place when I saw him last season and I imagine another pre-season in a full time pro environment will only benefit him further, similar with Tangata, it is quite easy to forget that he has come from a part time role into full time which I imagine only benefits players, especially playing in such a physical position.

Trout plays for Limoux tomorrow in French Elite One Championship....
I saw this but didn’t bother posting. I don’t really see the point as the club will have all the info on all these players. That being the case I have to assume the club don’t rate them.

touche
The original comment wasn't a dig btw, we just have to assume the club is aware of these player and for us, it's just harmless speculation. I think there is actually a database the clubs have access to.
All the same, you'd think LE would know he's in France.

I think Olbison could do a good utility job at front and back row cover. He's got a fair bit of SL experience and has the size at 6 ft 2 and 16 stones. He appeared well respected at Toronto looking at their website....
'PLAYER INFO
Recruited from Widnes Vikings leading into the 2019 Season, Tom Olbison came to the Wolfpack with a wealth of experience gathered since his 2009 Super League debut. Able to play in both the front row and second row, Olbison has played over 200 professional fixtures and took to the field in every Wolfpack clash in 2019.
2020 marks the Englishmen’s return to the top division and the Wolfpack will be delighted to have his line-breaking, hard-tackling talents at their disposal during their historic maiden Super League campaign.
It was extremely clear early on in 2019 that first-year Wolfpack Coach Brian McDermott valued the determination and energy that Olbison brought to his side, so much so that he was never left off the team sheet. Able to play in several positions, Olbison is a highly valued player for the Wolfpack and his continued presence will see fans, staff and players alike thrilled.
Doing his best work in defence, Olbison also managed to hit the scoreboard in 2019, something that added to his already invaluable contribution to his new team. With a big body and infectious energy, he will be one that his teammates look to as they look to make a mark in the top-division at the first time of asking.'

Sounds promising.
Maybe it's just that we don't have the cash. I know MC said we have offered Battye a deal which depends on London letting him go. I'm guessing at some point we will have to have an answer one way or another. Then if it's a no I suppose Olbison might come onto our radar a bit more.

| I mentioned it on another thread but Mitch Clarke is available and I believe has found a new club.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see him at Wakefield.
Chased the money and the big club over the last few years and it hasn’t worked out for him, but he is a strong ball runner big aggressive unit and just coming into his prime.
He also has a bit of a point to prove after not making the impact he must have hoped at Wigan.
Won’t be on massive money.
Kind of signing that tends to work out pretty well for Trinity.
I’d also anticipate after a month or so of the new season the loan market may hit up with limited opportunities for some very good players. Not ideal blooding another teams players but if it helps in the short term then think there could be some good pickups.

We've discussed him before but it seems he's a quota player and nobody seems to know if we do or don't have a free spot
