Absolute bitter, paranoid rubbish. By no means am I a Leeds fan but I can honestly say I have never once thought "Ooh, Peacock made less of an attempt to play that ball than 90% of all other players, let's disrupt the flow of the game & penalise him". 90% of games laast season I would bet no-one at all was penalised.

I'm not bitter although I might have given that impression as I mentioned Peacock who was named in a previous post, he's just an example of a player that does it more than most(there are other players at other clubs except Giants ). What I was getting at was the inconsistency of refs. Don't tell me Cas have been pulled for not playing the ball correctly and within 5 mins your shouting your rocks off because the opposition have committed the same crime.

| Incorrect ptb was this season's new obsession; as I predicted however, after 3 rounds it's now being routinely ignored.

If you don't know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're" I might get annoyed.

| I have little to no gripe over our disallowed try, from my viewing point it was difficult to tell. It was either forward or flat.
My grievance with Silverwood was what appeared to be inconsistent application of rule interpretation throughout the match. Persistent holding down by Huddersfield was unpunished, as were high tackles. Whenever a Huddersfield player pushed the ball out of the hands of a Wakefield player knock ons were awarded rather than penalties.
Overall I felt Silverwood has had better performances. In such a tight game the balance of marginal decisions can determine winners and losers. I don't complain about our disallowed try I just feel that overall we were denied a fair run throughout the match.
That is rugby. We'll get over it and fight another day. Next time we've a point to prove. We've had bad referring performances against us before and in our favour before. I
'll never forget Wigan's Ellery Hanley being awarded a try at Belle Vue when our full back (I think Richard Slater?) clearly knocked the ball out of his hands when Hanley was still stood up. The whole ground was resonating with the phrase "Cheat! Cheat! Cheat!" Okay I haven't forgotten yet as much as I was aggrieved at the time I have moved on.

I no longer shout. I adopt the Jon Sharp laid back approach (as it proved so successful for him). TBH I don't get to many Cas games but am struggling to remember the last time someone was called for it. Apaprt from the early season rush it seems years since it was an issue.

As frustrating as the disallowed try and the overall performance of Silverwood was, with a little more composure and better organisation we should have had them dead and buried well before the end. We had enough possession in their half of the field to have scored another three or four tries in the second half but there was a period of about 20 mins when the wheels completely fell off, no one was steering and at times we looked downright amateur.

| Come on folks, Catalan on Saturday, another tough game but, we go there optimistic and if our forwards repeat last Sundays effort, there are 2 points to be brought home.
Come on Trin !

You sound as bad as the Hudds fans. Why not for once just say two teams played really well but one had to lose - is it that difficult...really

Wondered how long it would take you to reply. I don't need you to tell me what to post on here I'll make my own mind up about that.
It seems that I have higher expectations of this squad than you, I believe that they have the ability to be top 6 contenders if they perform to their ability on a weekly basis, where as you are clearly happy with them just competing and losing with grace. I don't criticise them because I think they're that poor, I criticise them because I think they can be that good.
Regardless of refereeing decisions we had the opportunities to win that game without help from anyone else and didn't take a golden chance to post points on the board, as well as we played for most of the game, just a little more composure and awareness would have seen us at least get a draw and most likely win.
Wakefield fans for a lot of years have had to accept that just being part of SL was an achievement, but IMO we now have the best squad we've had since the late 70's and I hope that we can achieve a bit more than glorious failure, I also think that there will be the four usual suspects in the top four at the end of the season and all the rest from 5-8 are up for grabs and I would include us as contenders for any of those places, so you have your opinion and be prepared to accept mediocrity if you wish, but I will keep on expecting this squad to achieve a bit more than that if it's alright with you.

Apart from mentioning the Hudds fans. Your post was good.
It was an edge of the seats game (we didn`t have any). Either side would have been unlucky to lose as both sides had periods of dominance which made it a good game overall.

I do love the way folk like you put such high expectations on the shoulders of 17 young men. I wonder if you have such high standards and high expectation for yourself.
There is nothing wrong with expectations and ambition but sometimes you just have to accept it wasn't your day and just leave it at that instead of moaning on. You are not the only one with ambition but I realise it's very easy to bitch from the sidelines when your body ISN'T on the line and that applies to both of us.
I actually enjoyed the game, I'd pay £20 to watch that every week with the hope that we win our fair share.
What I'm sick of is people talking the game down and denigrating the efforts of teams and players in a way that just doesn't seem to happen in other sports. I don't think people mean to do it, it seems a force of habit.
Both teams wanted that game and both gave it a 100% effort and a fair amount of skill - I really don't know what more you can ask for.
Our time will come again, the best thing we can do is just support the lads so long as they are trying. Just relax you might find you like it
