| Interesting!
So its against club rules to drink? Yet the team bus coach driver sold them the cans and the bus has a stocked fridge with a price list? Hmm, unless there is a limit!
What are the rules about drinking on coaches? Wisca do not allow you for example?
Not sure it matters what Danny Sculthorpe earns. If he's paid it he is worth it.

| In my opinion the reason why they are publically challenging it and probably the reason they did not consider the consequences at the time is probably because they know their fate.
If I were a betting man I would not bet money on them being here next season.

| Well the story in the paper is via Danny S.
So your right maybe just him.
Earlier some of the 'in the know club' advsied that one of them had apologised.
As people have said it's such a minor story and appears to have been handled poorly.
A good result on Sunday (please!) and all will be forgotten

| I think the sun story is total rubbish - if he was paying by the can then £17 - £3 for a tip = £14 worth of beer.
Now £14 divided into 6 = £2.33 recurring, now the last time i bought a beer i did not have a coin to cover £2.3333333333333333333333
What a load of rubish the story is

Its a matter of opnion if hes worth it.
Was Sir Fred of RBS -- worth what he was paid??
I dont think you would find too many people that would agree.
Are footballers worth the obscene amounts they get each week?

Maybe he paid in Euros.
Taking into account the exchange rate on that dayand the commission charged by the bus driver it was probably about right.

Get it right - it was 17 quid for the ale and a 3 quid tip. That's £2.8333333333333333333333 per can.

| Yes they are all worth it.
Economic definition of what something is worth is what somebody is prepared to pay for it.
We may not agree but when Wakey signed dan s, rbs fred and man city robhinio that was the price to pay to acquire their services.
You have to think rugby salaries are very poor on the whole given that they are professional people, putting neck on line, performng on sky sports and with a limited career span after which they have to basically start again.
That said £80 odd k sounds nice!

If true that booze was on the coach somebody wants their backside kicking as for Mr Sculthorpe I am not a doctor but should he be drinking with his condition anyway?'"
Alchohol is like any other form of food containing sugar.
All Scully has to do is measure his blood sugar levels and take the appropriate amount of rapid acting insulin.

| Fining someone £1800 for having the equivalent of 3 pints of beer
Following questions to Mr Kear and the Wakey board;
1. Why didn't Kear have the gonads to speak up at the time?
2. If you dont want the players to drink on the coach why provide them with a fridge full of ale?
3. Why, when your team is in free fall, do you rock the boat further by causing an almighty stink like this one?
If i was a wakey fan I would be fearing the worst after, what was, a decent start.
Jesus wept

| Some of the answers you seek have already been posted on this thread. As for the others, well, you'll just have to "have the gonads" to ask Mr Kear directly yourself....

Well, if we get Scully down here next season at least he'll think £4.10 for a pint of peroni is reasonable

the coach company was ordered not to sell booze , the driver had already hide the booze but some found it . FFS they are grown men not 14 year olds sneaking booze . If Kear says no then No it should be .
Remember westgate(gate) and the Wakey express ? the number of posters who demanded a booze ban now seem to be advocating it.
