Just having a debate on a discussion board, like I said no need to be so sensitive about a view.

Quote: JonnoTheGreat "The amount of replies to my very fair earlier post shows just how sensitive this lot really are.

The Liverpool fans of RL??'"

So saying things in your post like -
Quote: JonnoTheGreat "The Wakefield club, and to a lesser extent the referee, showed a lot of ineptitude regarding Saturday's farce'"

Quote: JonnoTheGreat " only to witness what became an embarrassment to the sport.'"

Quote: JonnoTheGreat "
For the record, Widnes fans have been slaughtering the Wakefield club on other sites over this.'"

Quote: JonnoTheGreat "Castleford showed you how it should be done on Sunday with promptly postponing the match before the Pie fans would be making their way over. Maybe that's another lesson you could learn off Cas.'"

Nah you didn't jump on here for a bite, did you? a010.gif

By the way, Cas didn't show us anything, just like the other abandoned match the other week against Hudds that got rearranged for a couple of days later. Unlike Weldon road's pitch, ours was green and ready to play on an hour before KO by which time the Widnes fans had already set off. Once everyone arrived the club did everything they could to get the game on and please the Match Commissioner but mother nature beat us. But hey don't let that get in the way of your uninformed rant and who's the sensitive one?

Nice try, but it's clearly you playing at identity fraud.

Can't be bothered myself but hats off to you because the logistics of it all must be knackering, you must have a lot of free time on your hands.

So again, don't be so sensitive as if it's an attack on the club because as has been pointed out it's the match commissioner and ref who were in charge of the decision.'"

But you are drawing your conclusion from a picture or a 2 second video.
We were there and disagree with your points. So I'm not sure what else there is to discuss.

I'm drawing my conclusions from the weather I could see in Leeds. Also from seeing scenes from football matches in nearby places like Hudds and Sheffield just shortly before your game. Whilst the counter argument seems to be "I looked out my window and it looked ok" as if the concept of weather travelling doesn't exist.

I was at the Huddersfield game unlike you and it was nothing like what came down at BV, also at Wigan Friday afternoon where West Yorkshire was covered in fog but the reserve game was played in sunshine and clear skies so you can’t say every where will follow suit, it wasn’t forecasted for what we had at BV. So Micheal Fish, if you’re so good at predicting the weather, what’s Sunday afternoon going to be like in Leigh about 3pm icon_thumb.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm not sure why Wakefield Trinity as a club are coming in for stick about 'snowgate'. As already mentioned, it's the match commissioner's call with input from the ref. The game was given the go ahead and a number of volunteers, the chairman included, did all they could to improve pitch marking visibility and shift snow from around the ground.

I checked the weather and guessed it'd be either delayed, postponed or called off at some point, but not living far from the ground I went anyway. My guess was correct, but it wasn't my call to make with regards to the game going ahead. I don't think anyone expected the sheer blizzard of snow which materialised half an hour into the first half. I've never experienced snow like that!

Maybe we can just put it down to the ubiquitous and highly tedious craze of trying to generate controversy, outrage, offence, and finding someone to blame for the situation they didn't even find themselves in?

I have friends who live in Leeds who I was in contact with throughout the day. They were very surprised that we weren't having the snow they had through the day. Only 9 miles apart but totally different weather.

Agree, my Gf lives in Leeds and I spend time at her house and mine and the weather in both Cities can be completely different at times. Tbh it's usually the case that we get the better of the weather, almost like we're in some sheltered valley at times but yes it is hard to believe it's only a few miles down the road and things can be so different. Luckily over the years, snow has become a rare occurrence and hopefully, that will return.

Its just like that, I work in Leeds but live in Wakey and the drive home from Leeds to 41 is like going from night to day sometimes.
Anyway, its only the wums, the actual event is irrelevant, its not about facts or opinion its about being a wum, if it wasn't the weather it'd be some other tedious rubbish.

Bloody hell I've never seen a group of people so sensitive and insecure because somebody pointed out the weather in nearby areas meant they'd be a good chance of you getting quite a bit of snow. Even more ridiculous considering I've not once criticised your club about it.
