More worrying is the ones that are worth keeping would probably not get into another SL side. The way we have played of late I think we would struggle against some of the championship clubs if we played them on a 'good day''"
Agreed, the standard the players are playing at is alarming and that is not just down to the coaching it's down to the individuals and some of them need to look at themselves VERY HARD.

| Kear signed most of the squad, it his team.Think he is a bit too stubborn some times and continues to play players when totally out of form. Do agree that we would struggle against the top championship sides at the moment.

No I don't have a short memory just don't live in the past like a load who frequent this board. The guy has been touting himself around for other jobs and therefore any loyalty has been undermined by his own actions, plus he is doing a crap job. He is a professional sports coach where one of the main criteria is performance and results, he is getting neither

For my money it's some of our players who are past their sell by date, and Jesus Christ couldn't resurrect some of them. If JK is guilty of anything it's believing they wanted to play when begging for a contract, I look at the players and blame them squarely for the current debacles. JK can give them the tactics, training and even attempt to inspire but he can't make idlers into heroes. Truth is far to many of our second chance players have reverted to type - very sad.
To believe that anyone can do any better with the resources available at Wakey is pure folly.'"
Kear signed or gave extensions to nearly everyone of the current squad, so if they are not performing its down to his coachning/man management and bad judgement. Using your logic, Kear is safe for life cos nobody else will do any better so lets keep on playing like we are and give Kear a lifetime contract. Meanwhile back in the real world they are supposed to compete and entertain - under kear we are doing neither

If you were in a well paid job, would you just walk away from it,or, would you want paying off? Wether or not JK thinks he is doing a good job he would be a fool to walk away empty handed, and JK may be a lot of things but a fool? no, I don,t think so!'"
Its called decency - he has been trying to get himself another job and only stayed because the Catalans compo could not be agreed and Bradford preferred Potter.
If he backs his coaching abilities, then if he resigned he would be free to sign for another team with no compensation issues and we could try and find someone who could instill some pride passion and basic RL skills into the team which have been sadly lacking for the last 2-3 months.

| Is Kear a Fergie who we allow to rebuild us a new squad or a Benitez who stays too long and lives on his past record.
Kear is the best coash we have had in SL but theres nothing to say a new young and fresh aussie coch wouldn't be better.
I personally can't decide, I know its unusual for this board, but I reckon Kear will make the decision for us.

I would agree that Aussie is the way to go regarding coaching as long as it is someone with at least some experience. I guess the problem is, as with signing players, what we can afford and who we can attract.

Why is Aussie the right way to go ? At this rate we wont have any British coaches left in the game, and guess what they (Aussies) want to do ? bring in more Aussies.
This game we all love is being destroyed from within by a massive amount of over the hill, never has been, or never will be overseas players and coaches.
I dont mind 2 per team, noone can complain if you pay to watch a Vianakolo, Solomona, Lyon, Barrett, Gidley, Webb, ect, but top class players are few and far between, and our kids are being shut out by average at best overseas players.
The sooner we get rid of most if not all overseas players and coaches the better IMHO.

I agree with the players bit 2 per team is enough as you say. British coaches are way behind the Aussies, as is the British game, and I'd be looking at an Aussie in charge with a young British coach learning the ropes alongside them with a view to havfing quality British coaches in the future. This would ensure that the young British talent that we all want to see would be being developed by the very best. Look at the candidates for the England job to see how poor the British coaches are at the moment.

Sorry not having any of that. The only way if you want all things Aussie is to send several young coaches to every NRL club there is.
The RFL have had millions for youth development, and made a complete balls of it IMHO, spend a couple of million of developing young English coaches, send them over there for some experience, as Darrel Powell is showing now it Works.
This way we get English coaches, who have learned from the top Australian coaches, simple.
Then get rid of the lot of em over here.

Sounds fair enough same principle that we learn from the top Aussie coaches and then produce top quality British coaches. I'm all for getting rid of the overseas coaches but only when we have the quality to replace them.

Kear signed or gave extensions to most of the squad because if he hadn't we would not have had a squad.
Not sure how many times people need telling that as far as signing players go we're not an attractive proposition and won't be until the uncertainty over the stadium is sorted out.
We have quite a few players who probably would not get contracts elsewhere but if they are the only ones we can sign for now then what would you like him to do.
I would like to see a clearout over the close season but to do that we have to convince other players to come and play for us and at the moment that appears to be quite difficult.
