| Some of you dingbats appear to have taken a wrong turn on your way to the VT; please move along and let the grown ups talk.
Quote: pyeman "From the outside looking in, it looks like admin then 3 years rebuilding in the championship may be the best thing to gaurentee trins survival, but i dont claim to know all the facts so that may not be the case.'"
I agree with you; based on the scant information coming out of the club right now and the large amount of rumour and speculation that is filling the gaps, it would seem that the best option is administration, a bargain buy-out and a few years in the Championship to rebuild, ending up in NM and a strong bid for the next round.
In reality though, we have no idea what will happen over the coming weeks; the only thing that is a certainty, is that some short-sighted eejits will wish our club out of existence for the betterment of their own, without realising that they're next against the wall.

Wow those rose tinteds are extra strong, will you be there for the application ????

| Well said Bren2K, that is pretty much as i see it, though as much as sometimes i deplore SuperLeague, i aren't giving it up without a fight.

All very true!
The danger with going into administration is that once you begin tsuch a process you also open a clear path to liquidation! We all hope that some white knight will come along and snap up the club from the administrator but what if we are wrong?

Common sense at last, I think its your mates that need the reality check. I agree that Cas will be next up against the wall should trinity get the push this time, and for us traditional clubs there will be no way back.

We've kind of worked them into a corner, where if they are arguing, they are arguing against themselves, and they will have to come up with a more suitable site to turn it (Newmarke) down.'"
Not 100% getting but thanks anyway just re classifying land? As surely and new building on any land needs PP anyway? FWIW I expect NM will be passed eventually!
On other points elsewhere, for Oakwell to count then surely you'd have to have an agreement at least in principle for 2012-15. No point comparing Hull & Wigan as long leases purpose built and in their area. (Saints guaranteed new ground). Research would need to be done on crowds and impact in Barnsley area (may do this already of course).
Potential Admin would not be a reason to kick you out after Cru debacle, BUT it would remove your #1 fight against the RFL if it was to happen?

953.jpg 2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg |

| The reason Cru are staying is the RFL have a £700k charge now on the Racecourse Ground which was offered as security against money owing to themselves. They have also been given a 4 year guarantee of a franchise with £175k deducted from their sky moneys each year for the next 4 years.

| Disagree totally that Cas will be the next in line for the drop.
SL and RL need a SL club in the area.
Cas youth dev is excellent and will get better. Hopefully with a new stad the club and far higher turnover they will be able to keep their outstanding youngsters without bigger and wealthier clubs taking them.
Should Wakefield fall out of SL I do think it will give Cas greater access and influence over the best youngsters in the area.
Also i reckon that after one season Cas will average 10k crowds per home game.
Having written all that I really do hope Wakefield survive.
It will be a tragedy for all of RL if they fold and go out of business.

| If the new sports village is going to cost 20 million including a new stadium at no cost to the club, why would any company investing such a huge amount sit back and allow the club to possibly go into administration reducing our chances of a super league franchise.
Taking into account the running costs for a new stadium alone, surely logic dictates that the club playing in super league is more financially viable than a club playing in the lower tier.
Is there more going on here than we are aware of?

Thats a very good point Gizmo, If Yorkcourt relistically need us more than we need them, allow the club go out of business cutting their chances of ever developing Newmarket into anything making their investment in the land there worthless?

"I can tell you the atmosphere was extraordinary at Wheldon Road on big days. The ground held around 15,000 people, every one of them close to the action on the field and the noise would be enough to send a rumble through the town" - Malcolm Reilly "Reilly - A Life in Rugby League":d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_39793.jpg |

Be careful, you may find that as time goes by and if the latest LDF goes through, Yorkcourt need WTWC less and less. Stranger things have happened in business.
Think how many flat pack wharehouses they could build on 51 hectares for 15 to 20 million pounds .......
A loss of 14 hectares with a saving of that magnitude may be a price worth paying.
