The really "very silly" thing about this whole sorry story is that for some reason it will take 8 weeks to resolve. This sadly amongst other things allows far to much time for mindless speculation and character assasination to take place.

This is no great issue if guilty, but if innocent it's a slur to his playing career that he will probably never get over. If this is the case then the only silly thing TN is guilty of is peeing into a bottle when requested.

indeed. 8 weeks is a joke. speaking generally people need to remember that it's not a black and white issue there is a lot of grey inbetween. if you read the barnett piece he was banned for having amounts of whatever in his system of iirc 5.3, when the limit was 4. previously the limit had been 6 but been changed. so if he'd have been tested earlier he may very well not have failed. i appreciate i haven't been very succinct but you get my drift

. it is not an exact science as far as i can tell and there will be situations where cheats get away with it when tested and those who may be innocent banned.

too early for Davey , it could wreck 2 careers if rushed.. we have a few players as options that kear could put on the bench. Blanch is ready to return as is blymire , Johnson , king ect .

Having worked at the club as one of the physios I still have the RFL Anti-doping Booklet (100% ME) from a couple of years ago. This booklet is given out to all players of all levels.

It clearly states that the player is responsible and NOBODY else - not the Club, not the Club Doctor, not the Physio and not the GP. The player himself is responsible for checking the status of any substance, medication and supplement, whether prescribed or not, before they use it.

The list of safe medications for various conditions is in this booklet as is the list of prohibited substances ... and this is updated at regular intervals.

So IF found guilty nobody else is to blame, or be used in mitigation, but the player himself.

Has anybody said why the results of a test on Nov 24th weren`t made available until now? It seems an awfully long time to me, now we wait another 6-8 weeks for a hearing and probably another 2 weeks after that before a decision. Whichever way the decision goes the Club loses out as we will have to continue to pay Terry, if he`s found guilty I can`t see him returning his wages, if innocent will the RFL compensate us for paying a player who we couldn`t select? Not a chance, so it looks like a lose/lose situation for us.

dont tar other clubs with your players behaviour, newtons been caught and if proven will serve a ban, thats no reason to point the finger at others

Indeed, no Cas player would ever get caught up in a drugs row.

A 2 year ban is far too long for using recreational drugs. As for performance enhancing drugs I'm with Frankie Boyle I wanna see just how fast man can run and how pumped up players can get.
