Reports a few weeks back said that a deal was not far from being reached, it's all gone a bit quiet, I rememember Newcastle having the same situation with michael owen last year, basically if he isn't signed up by the start of the new season hell be gone by the end of it.

Personally I cannot think of many 7's in the world i would have over Eastmond, I rate Brough highly but I would still take Eastmond even now. I agree he is far from the finished article but he is still a top class player in his own right now and his potential is frightening. |

Brough is a far more rounded player than Eastmond right now. This is why i was surprised Brough did not get picked for England. England were crying out for a DB type 7 to play inside Tomkins. Plus Eastmond is a bit predictable at the moment for me. I hope Eastmond develops his organisational skills and doesnt end up like one trick ponies like McGuire and to a certain extent Burrow. |
