| Quote: kinleycat "Is agar the man for the job? Probably not, I didn't think so then and I don't think so now, that's not to say he hasn't had his successes.
Is he useless of course not, just look at some of the players he's brought in and look at the kudos he his held in within the team.
Are their motivation issues? Yes, are there game management issues? Yes.
In his defence he was brought in under Glover and Elston and a pack of lies & at that time he was a pretty unwelcome acquisition, but he got on with the job and in season 1 did well, since then he has had far from an easy ride.
To suggest Morrison is anything other than a huge gamble though is nonsense.
Like it or not, Agar has more SL credentials than Morrison, not that that is to say that Morrison couldn't do it, there is just nothing to back up that he could by way of fact.
Who would come to a club like Wakefield, I'd guess only someone with something to prove so I guess one way or another it will come down to a gamble of sorts.'"
No Kinley it's not nonsense it's an opinion - not one of your majestic efforts but hey - what it is is the choice I'd make if it were down to me - unlike most on here I only feel I can talk for myself.

You'll get used to it, his arrogance has few bounds at time - sometimes he can be ok, so take the rough with the smoot, bit like you Mops

| Quote: upthecats "Joke of a thread really off the back of one poor performance that wasn't that difficult to predict before, given the circumstances...
No, just another kneejerk reaction from the OP.....must have some bad stuff going on in his home life, as this comes not that long after him saying he wasn't having anything to do with the game anymore.....remember?
In fact it comes just over 5 weeks after posting this on the Hull board....
Quite a turnaround in thoughts on our coach, just off the back of one poor showing??
Think people need to realise we are not a top eight team!! Agar did tremendously well with what he had to get us into the top 8 that year.....better coaches may not have achieved that.....last season was maybe a touch disappointing....but looking at the whole bigger picture....his signings.....the respect he has from the players.....our overall league position under his coaching.....then think he's done a very good job with limited resources compared to the majority of teams in the league....
This season we should be a bottom 3 side....on resources, squad etc......far, far too early to write us off and sack a man doing (IMO) an excellent job after only 2 games....
The mind boggles at times....'"
You really must have a chip on your shoulder to need to go to such length when you could just have said you don't agree - how sad that every point made on these forums becomes a them and us rather than just a debating point.
As for my quote, what is the point you are making exactly?
As far as I can tell I'm within my rights - this IS a P&R season and this is his BIGGEST TEST and he failed in spectacular style. Agar wasn't unlucky on Thursday he simply got it all wrong and in a P&R campaign there simply isn't room for that - Cummins managed to work it out with his (are you listening Bren) limited experience.
As for falling out with the game - I have. I don't travel away, support Internationals and will probably attend no more than 4 or 5 games this season. Does that exclude me having a well reasoned opinion? Sorry if it offends the rose tinted brigade but I've been here with this club before and it's never to early to worry.
So glad you find this thread a joke, let's see if you're still laughing in a couple of month time.

But an opinion based on no fact to back it up as a realistic alternative at this moment in time.
Get off your high horse it wasnt meant as in anyway knocking your point - just who you named.

It's based on a gut feeling - which I clearly state in my OP, not a mention of facts anywhere regarding Morrison - I won't hold my breath for an apology as I don't reckon you do them, as for the high horse…jeez the irony.

you are in a lot worse position than you were last year
you had a close game against Salford which is also a team made up in the off season so they are still not the finished article and they beat you so when you play them again they will be better that they were 2 weeks ago it was there first league game also don't forget.
only team you will have a chance against this year is London and they will probley beat you
Not good to gloat...it is a long season

Gloating is part of the game, but I agree it's best done after rather than before the event.

An apology for what?
What qualifies your gut to suggest that an untried championship manager should be a likely replacement for Agar after two games?
Clearly you are having a difficult morning.

| For what it's worth. I think he's done an ok job in very trying circumstances. I'd like to see him with a team not built in 6 weeks and have a couple of settled pre-seasons before the trigger is pulled. I'm confident we will stay up this year.

Me having a difficult morning, at least I understand the meaning of "gut feeling"!
Nothing qualifies it, it wasn't a statement of fact - that is what a gut feeling is. It's not my wish to make you look silly so why do it yourself.
My post was an opinion, a gut feeling - nowhere do I sate it as fact. I think you're probably right it is too early in purely factual or analytical terms, but that wasn't what I was saying was it. I'll try the word hunch, I have a hunch Agar is not the man to save us and we'll see who's right.
I personally hope it's you, no need for an indignant response by the way

Absolutely correct; it comes from many years of being right.

| Agar's 'legacy' will be judged on the last day of the season. If we are in the top 12 he'll be a local hero, if we are in the bottom 2 he'll be forever remembered as our worst ever Super League coach.

I can see him now in the dressing room right lads go out there drop the ball, give pens away and miss tackles, not Agars fault we play dum rugby'"
Sorry but he has to take some esponsibility for it. Sure enough he isn't on the pitch but the fact is, it doesn't matter who the playes are, the dumb play and erors ae the same that have been blighting our play fo all but a handfull of gams on the end of season run. If the players change but the pattern is the same what conclusion are we to draw? Fact is, much as I cannot wait for the day he departs, we probably can't affod to sack him, so once again we will be masters of our own demise I expect. A new 3 year deal for crying out loud. On the evidence of what?
